SALES DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Base plus monthly commissions, medical/dental day 1, excellent career development and growth opportunities, paid certifications, free Linkedin Learning courses, internal mentorship opportunities, and more! We are seeking a Sales Development Specialists (SDS) to join our Americas Acquisition Sales team.  Our SDSs are specialized outbound sales representatives responsible for accelerating lead generation, increasing qualified opportunities for our acquisition sales team, and ultimately driving revenue for Rackspace.  SDSs develop and qualify outbound prospects through marketing-qualified leads (MQLs), along with leads from trade shows and other hand-raisers. The SDS team is relentless in connecting potential customers with Rackspace Technology solutions, averaging 60+ calls per day in order to connect and qualify a prospect or generate a tele-qualified lead (TQL) for our direct sellers. In addition to calling, SDSs will also utilize other channels to qualify the MQLs such as social media, email, etc.
Responsibilitieso   Makes outbound sales contact (including cold calling) and pursues sales leads to develop a portfolio of buying customers. o   Accepts orders, closes sales, maintains customer records, and completes required documentation. o   Identifies and qualifies prospective customers and records sales prospecting activity in Salesforce.o   May have an assigned product line that may overlap other sales teams' territories. o   Utilizes provided information (i.e. MQLs) to contact potential customers regarding Rackspace products.  o   Conduct needs analysis and identify prospects' pain points to determine how the Rackspace solution will speak to those needs.  Researches market segments to identify potential customers and makes the first contact.  o   Develop new business via telephone and mass communication such as email and social media to introduce the Rackspace solutions and identify appropriate buyers within the target market. o   Prepare and analyze leads pipeline reports and dashboards.o   Prospecting and supporting all of the revenue segments at Rackspace will be the core responsibility of an SDS. Qualificationso   Bachelor's Degree in a field related to the role required OR 4 years of additional related experience may substitute for the degree requirement and High School Diploma.o   1+ years of relevant sales experience.o   Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) and intelligence-gathering tools (e.g. LinkedIn, Discover.org, etc.) for pipeline management, communication, reporting, organization, and research.o   A solid understanding of the Rackspace portfolio of solutions and services.o   An ability to have business-centric and high-level technology conversations with prospects in an effort to qualify and tee up Rackspace direct sellers.o   Lead generation expertise to include the ability to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including prospect lists, discovery, and individual research.o   Strong communication skills with the ability to interact predominantly with senior leadership within prospect company.o   Ability to build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating interactions and conducting follow-up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.o   Ability to identify key buying influencers within these prospects to determine budget and timeline.  o   High energy and not easily discouraged.o   Customer-centric mindset.o   Basic knowledge of simple configurations in cloud computing preferred.o   Consistent ability to meet and/or exceed sales and activity quotas.o   Hunger to learn, adaptable to change, and a passion for sales in the IT industry.o   Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship. #LI-SF1 #LI-Remote #LI-Texas #LI-San Antonio #LI-Houston #LI-Florida #LI-Dallas #LI-Austin
