Who we are looking for
The Creative Director, Minted Brand leads the visual direction and execution of all aspects of Minted brand defining campaigns, artists initiatives and special projects. They build and manage a world-class roster of internal and external creatives, while driving and safeguarding Minted’s brand voice and business objectives.
You are a master at your craft and a mentor of it as well, from your leadership presence and orchestration ability on any creative project. While a high taste level, take-charge spirit, and rich past experience are essential, it’s your exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills that will lead to true success in this role. Be ready to wear multiple hats, including creative luminary, business leader, and team coach—contributing to a positive culture as well as the personal growth of your colleagues. An expert communicator, you’re clear, concise, and purposeful, whether rallying people around an idea or delineating logistical specifics. And as a creative chief with equal parts integrity and empathy, you’re able to constructively intake and problem-solve stakeholder feedback, while preserving the individual spirit of each project, and the voice and vision of the creative team.

What you will work on

  • Deliver best-in-class photography, video content, brand activations and design in service of Minted’s creative team.
  • Manage art directors, designers and writers, providing leadership, inspiration, guidance, support and direction. Encourage excellence, ambition, and team spirit.
  • Work strategically to drive brand awareness and deliver strong engagement through creative deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external creatives and agencies and partner with other leads in the business to ensure the strongest approach to external talent.
  • Art direct and oversee art direction for editorial and still-life photo and video shoots as needed, ensuring our content is always on-brand, diverse, contemporary, desirable and within agreed budgets.
  • Keep up to date with emerging trends in art, design retail, media and technology as relevant to the Minted brand.
  • Collaborate with brand leadership, production and business teams through the creative process.
  • Develop identities and launch creative for new products and initiatives.
  • Ensure all projects are well-planned, creatively exceptional, and delivered on-time.
  • Identify needs for training and development, coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure teams function effectively to achieve Minted’s business goals.
  • Review project work for highest standards of quality, consistency, accuracy, and successful completion.
  • Collaborate with the larger team to critically evaluate the creative process and continually improve it.

What you bring to Minted

  • 10+ years leading creative in a product/retail brand and marketing environments.
  • A passion for the Art, Design, and Technology a must.
  • Great people-manager and mentor, with a knack and passion for helping everyone on the team—especially junior talent—to grow, improve, succeed, and advance toward collective and individual goals.
  • Proven depth of experience in working with varied agencies and vendors across a breadth of creative mediums and spectrum of strategy, design, and development.
  • Existing relationships with relevant freelance photographers, directors, stylists, etc.
  • Proven depth of design and art-direction experience in digital and physical environments.
  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Depth of experience across online, print, and experiential design, with a solid understanding of content platforms.
  • Highly proficient in design, typography, Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Astute attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and agile environment.
  • A sense of humor.
