In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Build, automate and maintain business dashboards, reporting, analysis and metrics, including in-depth analytics of key metrics such as LTV, ARPU, CAC and Payback
  • Provide strategic insights on new projects to be launched
  • Partner directly with Product teams and provide actionable insights based data-driven analytics
  • Complete monthly/quarterly/annual variance analysis and provide flashcard report to business units
  • Maintain long-term financial model and monitor changes to assumptions
  • Prepare external board materials and other deliverables
  • Provide assistance on ad-hoc projects

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical role; familiarity with financial statements and general accounting principles; background in corporate finance, FP&A, banking, or consulting is nice to have
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and hands-on experience with data; advanced financial modelling skills
  • Excellent SQL knowledge and experience with writing and debugging complex queries beyond basic SELECT statements; experience creating dashboards from queried data
  • Curiosity; if something seems off, take immediate actions to figure out what’s going on
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in collaboration with various team members and departments; confidence to express views
  • Strong communication skills; effective writing skills; ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple and easy-to-understand way, particularly to those unfamiliar with financial concepts
  • Confidence to embrace new ways of doing things, including automating functions and looks for continuous improvement
  • Strong business acumen; acts without being told what to do; brings new ideas to Wealthsimple; escalates situations to manager when appropriate
  • Honesty and integrity; doesn't cut corners; does what is right
  • Enjoys working in a fast-growing dynamic environment
