We are looking for a marketing-obsessed strategist who is passionate about the field - its trends, its challenges, its opportunities, its leading thinkers -- and about educating fellow marketers to drive growth -- to be our marketing Category Manager. You will be responsible for Section4’s marketing curriculum strategy, ensuring that our overall offerings are highly relevant, cohesive, and accessible for our students.  You will also collaborate across Section4 to bring that strategy to life, especially  identifying faculty, outlining course content, and go-to-market essentials for individual offerings.
This is a remote position based in the US and reports directly to the Head of Education.

What you’ll do

  • Own Section4’s marketing curriculum. Engage in research, synthesize trends, and integrate your strong industry experience/expertise to determine overall course offerings and faculty. Maintain relevance and cohesiveness over time for the courses, including evaluating student engagement data to inform choices
  • Guide the individual course development from topics to faculty to setting goals for students results
  • Partner with product marketing to ensure strong go-to-market plan for course and overall marketing stack
  • Engage Section4’s marketing faculty, from guiding and evaluating teachers to bringing the community together over time to inform curriculum and support Section4 members

Who you are

  • A person who believes that traditional business education is broken, and a thirst to be a key player in reimagining how to fix it
  • Passionate and informed about the field of marketing.  A voracious consumer of marketing literature, trends, and industry approaches -- all of which you synthesize into your own clear perspective on what marketing leaders and their colleagues need to drive growth now and in the future
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex or abstract concepts into well-structured, usable, and easily consumable frameworks
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing roles and/or educational settings studying and applying marketing concepts
  • Have a rich network of thought leaders who you enjoy engaging. Comfortable and effective at continuing to reach out to that network and grow it further in service of Section4’s students
  • Strategic thinker with good/quick judgement, but also a doer who rolls up your sleeves and ships products quickly
  • Enjoy working independently, but also a highly effective team member cross-functionally
  • You like to have fun at work
