The Role
As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional business stakeholders to build and drive a commodity strategy in your responsible category of spend. Your experience in strategic sourcing and negotiation will help the business optimize pricing within their assigned budgets, and improve and scale the vendor selection and sourcing process - all while you lead the negotiation and review of comprehensive contractual vendor agreements, which directly impacts the company’s bottom line.
In this role, you will be the primary procurement contact for the assigned commodity and act as a liaison with your internal customers (the cross-functional business stakeholders) as well as external third party partners (vendors), helping to bridge and build collaborative relationships. You will build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with transparency to ensure synergies that lead to efficiencies across the Accounting, FP&A, Accounts Payable and Legal teams.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop strong cross-functional stakeholder support for assigned category of spend.
  • Construct, conduct, and synthesize market research and benchmarking to build and support a commodity strategy.
  • Ensure that category spend is compliant with contract and procurement policy with a strong emphasis on ensuring business continuity.
  • Develop an understanding of cost drivers of contracts in managed spend categories, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and convert to actual savings.
  • Manage ongoing vendor relationships as the assigned contact for all commercial issues, and review vendor performance by creating and maintaining vendor scorecards.
  • Lead RF(x) activities for the assigned spend categories.
  • Review, analyze and clarify vendor proposals and quotes to ensure equal comparison.
  • Develop and establish sourcing review templates to allow efficient cross-functional vendor selection workflow.

What We Value

  • At least 5 years of procurement operational experience, preferably in a rapidly growing/evolving environment.
  • At least 3 years of Strategic Sourcing experience, with prior experience in SaaS tools/licenses, IT Hardware and Managed Services.
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor contracts, including identifying and negotiating critical contractual clauses.
  • Proven ability to synthesize and analyze critical information.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business process inefficiencies and drive process improvements.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team.
  • Experience working with ERP and P2P tools with experience with Coupa, Netsuite and other supplementary procurement systems and modules is a plus.
