As a Sales Development Team lead, your primary responsibility is to deliver positive results as a player coach for the sales development team across the Asia Pacific region for Rackspace. Partner with teams across sales and marketing to achieve results. Drive continuous improvement in performance and processes through the management of the inbound demand model that Rackspace uses. Collaborate with sales leaders to ensure team activities align with business goals and objectives. Implement strategic goals and metrics for team performance. The Sales Development Rep or Inside Sales Rep is responsible for proactive outbound prospecting and inbound lead follow-up to generate new business opportunities. Reporting to Marketing, the candidate will work closely with Marketing and Sales teams to identify targeted customers and develop effective messaging strategies.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Sales Development Representatives across the Asia Pacific region through mentorships and modelling of positive behaviours. Maintain the highest standards of personal delivery to lead and coach by example and to provide cover as required.
  • Build team culture - keep the team engaged, informed, and motivated; foster a competitive and collaborative team environment.
  • Develop prospecting outbound strategies for our team in line with Sales Reps and business needs with available resources. 
  • Maintain diligent focus on driving desired individual and team outcomes such as qualified lead generation, conversion rates, SDR productivity, meetings and contribution to pipeline and bookings. 
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of all inbound leads and guide the team to ensure all SLAs are complied with to the highest standard.
  • Regularly engage with the Marketing and Partner teams on the progression of marketing and partner generated leads and feedback to assist in optimising future demand generation tactics and/or lead follow-up.
  • Regularly run one-to-one sessions with the Sales Development Reps to support them with their development
  • Monitor and report achievements on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.

Key Requirements

  • Leads generation expertise to include the ability to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including prospect lists, discovery and individual research.
  • Conducts a needs analysis and determine prospects pain points to determine how the Rackspace solution will speak to those needs.
  • Identifies key buying influencers within these prospects to determine budget and timeline.
  • Is skilled in a range of processes, procedures and systems to carry out assignments.
  • Uses knowledge of how the team integrates with others to accomplish the team objectives.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact predominantly with senior leadership within prospect company.
  • Builds and cultivates prospect relationships by initiating interactions and conducting follow-up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Customer centric mindset.
  • Basic knowledge of simple configurations in cloud computing preferred.
  • Uses communication skills to regularly exchange information, escalate issues and effectively share expertise within the team.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Sales, Marketing, Business or a related field
  • Ability to perform at the proficiency and autonomy required of the role, typically found with 1–3 years of related experience, preferably in telemarketing and/or inside sales.
  • Call center experience and/or sales in the technology industry preferred
