Notarize is looking for a thoughtful, communicative, curious, and motivated individual to join our remote-first team as a Contract Administrator. In this role, you’ll be involved in a wide range of projects, from compliance to contracting and even corporate governance. You’ll work with leaders and teams across the organization as you assist in streamlining processes to foster effective cross-functional collaboration. 
Notarize is improving the way businesses and individuals execute the most important transactions of their lives, including real estate, institutional investment/retirement, insurance, healthcare, and wealth management transactions, among others. This requires us to understand and evaluate a host of existing federal and state laws, rules and licensing regimes as well as a host of federal, state and local customs and practices, and to apply them in a compliant way in the context of a digital and online process. 
This dynamic and pivotal role is great for a candidate who wants hands-on experience helping a legal tech startup company scale against an expansive vision.

What you'll do as our contract administrator:

  • Assist with drafting and reviewing contracts and preparing markups.
  • Maintain our contract management system and assist sales with questions about the system.
  • Gather information about issues that arise in negotiations and help determine likely next steps in the negotiation.
  • Act as a friendly first point of contact for the legal team by fielding and clarifying questions from other teams.
  • Assist with and see projects through to completion by coordinating resources and timetables.
  • Perform other related duties such as assisting with compliance and other legal issues.
  • Maintain metrics and generate reports related to contracts.

What we're looking for:

  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience working with contracts in an in-house environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with an ability to interact professionally and effectively across the organization.
  • Tech savviness.  Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite a must.  Experience with Confluence, Jira, Icertis and SalesForce are a plus. 
  • A demonstrated willingness to be part of an egoless, “all hands on deck” team, doing whatever needs to get done to move the business forward
  • A thoughtful and judicious approach in balancing risk and compliance against revenue goals.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands and deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Comfort seeking information directly, identifying resources, and delivering results without waiting for direction.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working on a wide variety of projects, some of which may be outside of your direct experience.
  • Ability to act with discretion in a highly confidential environment.
