Rackspace Technology is hiring a Government Solutions Account Executive.
This role may be based in the Washington DC metro area or in another US location that aligns with the needs of the business.
The Account Executive is responsible for driving FedRamp compliant IT managed services and associated professional services within the Federal space primarily through Soft-as-a-Service Providers and Systems Integrators.  The successful candidate will leverage the inheritance of Rackspace’s FedRAMP compliant offering to add value to application owner’s in support of their FedRAMP compliant requirements.  This person will be expected to have a strong knowledge base of developing strategic business plans and contracting with the US Federal government directly as well indirectly through System Integrators, and Software-as-a-Service providers.  The objective is to meet/exceed quarterly sales targets by identifying and closing profitable new business opportunities. Will interface extensively and maintain first class relationships with all customers, partners and suppliers. 
Specializes in creating new customer spend and footprint with Rackspace Technology Government Solutions. Responsible for providing customers with product solutions based on facts and understanding of customers' business needs and strategy.  Owns opportunities through the full sales cycle from lead to close.

Responsibilities - What will you be doing?

  • Focused and driven to deliver exceptional results.
  • Experienced in selling IT services and/or solutions into the US Federal Government (DoD or Civilian Agencies) or SLED market.
  • Experienced in developing strategic Business Plans.
  • Exercise management of own contacts network to uncover new opportunities and ensure targeted achievements.
  • Consistently identify and capture profitable revenue opportunities for our services.
  • Collaborate with commercial and public sector practices to identify opportunities and leverage solutions into the market
  • Independently establish and grow new or existing client base.
  • Improve sales penetration within Federal market sector.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting of achievements.
  • Must communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all areas of our organization.
  • Will establish and lead sales support teams to win key opportunities.
  • Identify, understand technical issues and resolve any obstacles, objections or problems to the successful sale and service for our customers.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with “C” level decision makers to maximize business opportunities.
  • Create plans to increase penetration within existing accounts using cross selling opportunities with account teams.
  • Participate in sales calls and bid reviews, demonstrating excellent sales and closing skills.

Requirements - Is this the job for you?

  • Ten or more years of experience in Public Sector Business Development. Experience in building a Public Sector Business practice would be ideal.
  • Solid knowledge of the Technology Industry. Prior sales in Managed IT Services preferred.
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP compliance and the ATO (Authorization to Operate) process.
  • Existing senior level relationships within the Public Sector.
  • Experienced with complex high end selling in a long-term sales cycle environment.
  • Evidence of creative customer agreements/contracts which have demonstrated tailored technical client requirements while achieving customer satisfaction.
  • Proven and strong experience in direct sales.
  • Strong prospecting skills and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Proficient use of technology as we are a high tech company.
  • Masters, Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
