About the JobWe are looking for our first Payment Operations Manager. You will have the opportunity to build out our payment operations team and processes from the ground up. You will report to the Global Controller and work cross-functionally with our finance, engineering, product, customer support, and leadership teams as this is a critical role within the company. The ideal candidate has experience building out scalable processes and thrives in a fast-paced environment. If you are data-obsessed, analytical, and love investigating variances and trends across large sets of data, this is the role for you.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with engineering to build out critical tools, automate routine work where possible, and address longer-term or recurring issues
  • ​​Own payment issues from beginning to end, working with engineering and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a systematic and timely fashion
  • Partner internally with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Legal to support internal financial systems process improvements and automation as well as legal and regulatory compliance
  • Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including reviewing journal entries, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, and analytical reviews
  • Hire a team as needed, which may be global

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in operations at a high-growth tech company or payments industry experience
  • Strong understanding of economic, legal, regulatory, and technical factors shaping payment operations
  • Experience with US and International payment flows
  • You don’t shy away from complex problems and are enthusiastic about establishing best practices across the organization
  • You’re passionate about Fintech and money movement
