Our Levvel family is growing! Our engineering capability is looking for a Development Platform Leader to join our team. As an engineer at Levvel you must be flexible and willing to work challenging, complex problems in order to generate strong solutions. Excellent communication skills are key, and you must be able to ask penetrating questions to uncover the root causes of challenges being presented. Our engineers are strong consultants, who are just as comfortable talking through solutions with clients as they are at coding. As an engineer at Levvel, you must value collaboration and working cross functionally to make the greatest impact for our clients and fellow team members. 
In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading a center of excellence within our technology solutions across other technology teams, designers, product managers, and client stakeholders to help define and build innovative scalable solutions for our clients.
Within three months, you will have ingrained yourself with your project and its goals, while developing strong relationships within and outside of your team.
Within one year, you will have worked across various client and internal Levvel teams to build solutions, whether those be for clients or for internal initiatives. As a seasoned engineer at Levvel, you will have engaged internally to foster and develop your skill sets and invested time in honing new ones. Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong ability to translate client and system requirements into sound technical solutions, spanning both front-end and back-end
  • Ability to effectively communicating technical design and vision across internal teams and to non-technical client stakeholders
  • Ability to foster a culture of trust and collaboration within the team by helping your team reach their goals, publicly celebrating achievements, and leading productive conflict resolution
  • Ability to support your team by contributing to deliverable creation, reviewing deliverables to ensure quality, resolving ambiguity in goals, and removing roadblocks
  • Familiarity with microservices design principles and ability to communicate/diagram how services interact with one another
  • Experience with API design including ability to articulate and defend your preferences for API design for both web (REST, GraphQL) and internal system components
  • Experience writing automated tests using Jest
  • Experience with reactive programming paradigms
  • Experience with modern web development, including ReactJS, Typescript, NestJS
  • Experience with WebSockets in React
  • Proficiency with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with DevOps processes and toolsStrong ability to review existing codebases and identify areas for refactor or improvement vs starting over
  • Owns a center of excellence for the represented area (backend/frontend/db)
  • Responsible for creating a culture of excellence (quality standards, operational efficiencies, etc.)
  • Establishes and facilitates the PR process for the center of excellence by setting and enforcing standards where necessary
  • Accountable for building a culture of quality for the center of excellence
  • Ability to plan 2-3 sprints out for needs with key stakeholders
  • Executes technical spikes to test and validate new concepts or ideas
  • Can write code when needed for spikes, velocity needs, pair programming, or mentoring
  • Facilitates conversations between shared teams (Data, Devops, Design System) when needed for platform development
  • Plans the execution of core changes for the next sprint with the application technical leaders
  • Ensures alignment across the teams for what needs to be modified
  • Has 3-5 1:1’s with the Technical Team Leads and Engineering Managers to ensure collaboration and consistency in the implementations of common functionality.

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Experience with Business Process Modeling solutions (Flowable, Camunda, etc.)
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Android and/or Java
