As the VP of Engineering, you will play a key role in setting the long-term direction of Pex’s global engineering strategy that you will help build, develop, and execute.

The Role:
We’re looking for an accomplished and pragmatic leader who, in conjunction with the CEO and other engineering leaders, will help develop and execute a strategic and scalable technical vision. As the VP of Engineering, you will:
• Collaborate with the CEO and other VPs of Engineering on technical strategy and execution.• Lead by example and by intent to support a collaborative and empowered engineering culture valuing autonomy, accountability, transparency, and sustainable pace. • Lead staff engineers and tech leads to develop and maintain engineering-wide best practices, guidelines, and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and are consistent across development teams.• Work with Engineering Managers and Tech Leads to achieve key business priorities including appropriate scope, high quality, and timely product releases.• Collaborate with the Infrastructure team, staff engineers and tech leads to ensure the architecture abilities are achieved.• Collaborate with the Product team to create and execute on the product strategy and the product principles to build the right product in a timely manner. • Develop and cultivate strong relationships between Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, and R&D teams.• Implement and maintain agile methodologies, and execute across a dynamic, quickly evolving environment.
About You:

While we’re excited to learn what you can bring to the team, there are a few key things you’ll need that are essential to success in this role:
• 10-15+ years experience in technical organizational leadership.• Experience in high growth, dynamic, distributed teams.• Experience working with stakeholders to create hiring strategies to recruit and develop quality teams.• Knowledgeable about industry trends and best practices.• Ability to identify opportunities and challenges in the marketplace by constantly evaluating emerging and/or innovating technologies.• Proven ability to set technical vision and build the technical product roadmap from launch to scale.• Very strong analytical and problem solving skills including requirements analysis and risk assessment.• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, diplomacy, and humility to lead and develop strong working relationships.• Ability and/or previous experiences with working effectively in a fully remote and distributed team.
