We are looking for an inquisitive, persuasive, and driven person to be our product manager. You will be responsible for helping students achieve their educational goals with software-supported experiences and scaling our business to help even more Section4 students.
This is a remote position based in the US.

What you'll do

  • Own the customer product experience.
  • Define experiences that target customer problems and opportunities, and that are usable, feasible, and valuable.
  • Be the “lightning rod” for juicy problems and great ideas within the company and across the education space; create a backlog of experiences to build.
  • Develop a prioritized yet flexible roadmap that addresses student and business needs and wants, and that also aligns our internal teams (product, UX, development) and external teams (operations, support, marketing, etc.) for success.
  • Create health and success metrics and monitor them. Net Promoter Score is a favorite around here for which we are all accountable.
  • Prepare user stories for Agile development ceremonies so development can scope work and estimate effort.

  • You listen to customers and stakeholders, note their needs and wants, and ensure they feel heard.
  • You write and present clearly, with enthusiasm for the vision of the product and how it will help the customer.
  • You thread the needle to deliver experiences quickly AND completely; your first versions don’t take eons to build perfectly but don’t feel rushed and “beta” either.
  • You can talk an exuberant leader or stakeholder “off the ledge” of a pet or trendy feature.
  • You deliver by planning carefully and adjusting plans as you gather more information.
