The Google Cloud Solutions Architect is the front-line expert at working with Rackspace’s customers, sales teams, solutions engineers, and product development/management groups. The candidate that will fit best into a Cloud Solutions Architect role will have extensive experience in the design and development of business applications and Cloud-specific solutions.

DNA of a successful Solutions Architect:

  • Innately service-oriented and always communicates with respect and professionalism
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
  • Ability to prioritize deals, training, and initiatives through highly effective time management
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, presentation, and whiteboarding skills
  • Motivated self-starter who takes ownership of customer needs and works to find a positive outcome that yields high customer service levels
  • Trusted advisor to the customer that will conduct deep-dive sessions to help customers overcome adoption concerns
  • The ability to interact in an engaging way with individuals and groups while conveying the value of Rackspace services with clarity of the benefits to the customer.  

Qualifications

  • Requires 5+ years of solution architecture experience or hyperscaler specialty domain experience with a proven track record
  • Have a strong understanding of the SRE practice concepts and Google Cloud services such as App Engine, GKE, Bigtable, BigQuery, GCE, Anthos, and other Google services.
  • Google PCA or ACE certification or the ability to quickly acquire the certification is required.
  • Any of the following industry certifications are a plus: Linux+, Azure, AWS, RHCSA, RHCE, MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, OpenStack, Google, etc. 
  • Sales training & advanced technical training across multiple technologies within a single domain (Cloud, Security, DevOps, etc.). 
  • Strong understanding of business operations and application mapping to business functions.
  • Strong understanding of the DevOps concepts for CI/CD, configuration management, orchestration, etc.
  • The ability to travel approximately 25-50%
  • Candidate must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship
