We are looking for a Sales Messaging Strategist to help our sales teams cut through the noise by developing and facilitating modern, customer-centric strategic messaging experiences during key meetings in active sales cycles. Strategists accel in driving one-to-one marketing/sales strategy and selling stories. These stories accentuate the value of Guidewire to customer’s business, emphasize Guidewire’s unique value proposition, and differentiate our solutions in the market. This highly strategic, collaborative uses both existing content as well as creating new, innovative content in partnership with Solution Studio to tell compelling stories.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaborative, critical messaging development processes with diverse, experienced Guidewire sales teams.
  • The Strategist is most effective when engaged during the early prospect stage. You will guide messaging throughout the sales cycle and can be an important bridge during the critical mid-evaluation.
  • Engagement options can vary from streamlined and consultative for customer profiles and imperatives that are common to highly customized for sophisticated and strategic customer profiles. Engagement options will be developed through qualification criteria that is tested and iterated over time.
  • Upon determining the engagement option, you will conduct a messaging workshop. This will establish the prospect’s position, appetite, business imperatives, behaviors and attitudes. The workshop result is a messaging framework and plan to deliver messaging assets.
  • Research, build, and orchestrate compelling, clear, and customer-centric experiences during active sales cycles to reinforce the Guidewire value proposition and promote interaction and memorability (digitally and in-person).
  • Incorporate data-driven content (role observations, business case, business transformation), as well as competitive intelligence anecdotes (both qualitative and quantitative) and existing customer experiences to tell compelling stories.
  • Identify and promote new and creative presentation techniques to promote engagement and innovation.
  • Create a feedback loop with content contributing teams on what’s working and what’s not. Help enable these teams to expand, promote, and commercialize messages and assets that stick.

Desired Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong marketing, sales, and general eye for business (proven experience)
  • Confidence leading and influencing across large, experienced teams
  • Curiosity to uncover “what problem are we trying to solve” and “why are we doing this”? Learners’ approach to ask questions and uncover hidden gems
  • Expertise with key presentation & facilitation techniques and willingness to try new things
  • Experience facilitating sales strategy/messaging workshops to develop clear, concise, value-based messaging
  • Strong project management skills
