Summary of Position:
We are looking for an energetic Media and Public relations professional to join our team.  Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Corporate Communications and working closely with the Brand and Communications team, this role will be responsible for executing on media and public relations initiatives that support the growth and recognition of the PointClickCare brand across core segments. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of media/PR programs that generate earned and/or owned media coverage for the PointClickCare brand to support the company’s narrative
  • Develop relationships and liaise with appropriate media and third-party influencers
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends impacting PointClickCare and make appropriate recommendations regarding PR strategy surrounding them
  • Work closely with PR agency to proactively support and execute all media/PR campaigns across the US market
  • Work with PR agency to track all brand mentions and generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports of coverage and quality scores
  • Work alongside PR agency to ensure editorial calendar and media database is up to date, providing suggestions and strategic guidance to internal teams on what media trends and topics are relevant
  • Responsible for crafting media-worthy stories around product innovation, marketing initiatives, customer success, and executive profiles
  • Draft and edit media pitches, press releases, key messages, briefing documents, FAQs, talking points, etc. as needed
  • Coordinate and manage all interviews with internal spokespeople and/or third parties, briefing spokespeople on key messaging
  • Produce timely and relevant content for media audiences and stakeholders of PointClickCare
  • Oversee production of various PR and corporate communication assets to be used across various media platforms
  • Manage the press release process for PointClickCare’s Partner business, overseeing internal reviews for all partner press releases
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team to effectively contribute to integrated communications strategies - with the intent to ensure singular message distribution to media
  • Develop and manage media relations strategy for the Canadian market, ensuring support and alignment with Employer Brand efforts
  • Support with the company’s internal communication and Employer Brand strategy
  • Day-to-day management of PointClickCare’s Instagram channel, ensuring alignment with Employer Brand strategy
  • Work closely with the Content team and PR agency to provide support on Social Media strategy as needed
  • Support and execution on various corporate communication initiatives as needed (Speaker Bureau, submission for corporate awards, CFPs, company fact sheets, etc.)  

Experience:

  • University degree or college education in Public Relations and/or Communications
  • 5-7 years of media relations experience in agency and/or corporate environment
  • Strong media and influencer relationships, experience with U.S. media considered an asset
  • Ability to deliver high quality work under tight deadlines
  • Results oriented, with an ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Self-starter with high energy, who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills – oral and written with strong proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated success in developing PR campaigns including press coverage from key media
  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Enthusiasm to manage the day-to-day execution of integrated communication tactics
  • Experience in building consensus, collaborating with cross-functional groups to get things done
  • Skilled at storytelling – can thread a narrative together and connect the dots
  • Razor-sharp focus, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Understanding of cloud-based technologies and knowledge of the long-term care industry considered an asset
