Your Role & Mission: is seeking a highly motivated and talented Controller to lead our Accounting operation. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for building the team and implementing best-in-class processes that can scale with the company. The ideal candidate has a strong combination of strategic thinking and technical skill, with the ability to roll up their sleeves in a high-growth environment. 
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage and execute critical controllership processes and provide technical and financial thought-leadership- Build and manage the global accounting team, including all general ledger, consolidation, technical accounting, tax, treasury management, accounts payable, order to cash, and revenue recognition activities- Be the primary accounting and tax expert, overseeing all accounting policies, standard operational procedures and technical accounting for Apollo- Lead the implementation and deployment of a best-in-class ERP system and other software to drive scalability and reliability in our financial operations - Manage external business relationships including auditors, banking, taxation, and other key relationships Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance internal controls over financial reporting- Recruit, lead, and develop talent within the organization by coaching, counseling, engaging, and evaluating performance- Identify opportunities and drive projects to improve business processes and business support
- Minimum 12-15 years of controllership, accounting, and/or financial operations leadership experience, preferably with venture-backed startups or high-growth companies- SaaS experience with strong technical accounting experience in US GAAP and working with ASC 606, ASC 350-40, etc.- Experience in managing treasury operations and tax, annual audits, cap table and equity management, and investor relations- Strong leadership abilities and a great communicator who can partner with other functional leaders to solve complex business problems and work on strategic initiatives- Experience with the deployment of ERP systems such as Netsuite and other software to streamline processes and reporting- Public accounting experience and CPA
