Job Description Summary:Ensures achievement of strategic revenue objectives for Rackspace's cutting edge, industry leading, compliance-focused government cloud products. Researches market trends and needs. Articulates results in the form of product requirements.  Plays a proactive role in product planning and design to ensure the product is differentiated from competitors in the marketplace. Develops content for marketing collateral and sales training to ensure successful product launches.  Involved throughout the entire lifecycle of the product, working closely with development teams from product initiation to delivery to eventual product retirement. Defines, refines and supports FedRAMP compliance and cloud product offerings based on DevSecOps principles and hyper-scale cloud technologies in support of government customers and partners. Serves as a voice of the customer, and assists in prioritizing, defining and shaping how each requirement is deployed and maintained.     Job Description:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: Advanced knowledge of the following domains: IT industry, government and product. Advanced understanding of business as it relates to the cloud industry. Advanced knowledge of product development life cycle with relevant experience in 1 or more phases. Knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) principles and tenets (confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation, etc.). Knowledge of cloud architecture concepts including distributed system methodology, topology, and components. Knowledge of network communication protocols, directory services, and security architecture. Knowledge of system administration concepts for Unix/Linux and/or Windows operating systems. Knowledge of security policies, standards and practices, such as FIPS, FISMA, FedRAMP and NIST SP 800-53. Familiarity with IT Risk Management and Compliance automation software such as Telos Xacta. Ability to work independently on tasks and take ownership of projects.
JOB COMPLEXITY: Strategic- medium level contributor to overall strategy. Tactical- medium contribution (if PA available). Manages the success of assigned products and develops requirements for future product releases. Creates Product Line Strategies. Develops business cases for new offerings. Researches and creates product requirements docs. Facilitates build vs. buy analysis. Works with Product Marketing Manager regarding company wide communications. Researches competitors’ products, assesses competitive advantages and determines what product features and functionality will be built. May be asked to mentor or coach other PM’s. Provides consultation with leadership and peer groups regarding long and short range features and capabilities. Ensures major product architectural designs are maintainable, flexible and cost-effective solutions. Decisions impact the achievement of customer, operational, program or service objectives. Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Supports business partners where necessary in dealing with current and prospective clients.
SUPERVISION: Little instruction on daily work, general instruction on new assignments.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required, plus 5-8 years related experience (technology and/or product management). BS in Technology or Business preferred. MBA preferred. Public Cloud, Security+, Network+, CISSP, CCSP certifications preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: General office environment. May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor. Moderate levels of stress may occur at times. No special physical demands required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Must be able to pass a Public Trust background check at hire. Must be a U.S. Citizen. May require further DOD security clearance..
