In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Partner with senior leaders to work cross-functionally and use data insights to present strategic recommendations to drive better decision-making across the whole organization
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company's KPIs and provide insights to senior management via regular reporting across products and domains to be discussed in executive forums
  • Lead strategic projects and support senior leadership on ad-hoc research and analysis
  • Partner with the Data Science team to ensure consistency and reliability of key data; design and validate new dashboards/models to drive key insights on the business
  • Proactively identify and action on any automation opportunities to facilitate shifting capacity from data manipulation to more value-adding activities (deeper analysis and recommendations)
  • Collaborate with other FP&A leaders to drive continuous scale and add efficiency to our processes
  • Manage a lean, high-performing team that works cross-functionally throughout the company with an inclusive, direct and growth-mindset leadership approach, promoting a knowledge sharing environment

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 10+ years of experience in a finance focused role (investment banking, private equity, venture capital or management consulting experience strongly preferred)
  • Extensive experience partnering with senior leaders both in a Finance and cross-functional capacity and demonstrated understanding of key metrics including ARPU, CAC, Payback, LTV, Cohort Analysis, etc.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with superior attention to detail; advanced financial modelling skills and ability to impose structure and logic in ambiguous situations
  • A proven track record and enthusiasm for building, managing, mentoring, and inspiring teams and influencing peer organizations; ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
  • A passion for solving challenging and impactful problems; getting into the weeds by understanding the how and why of business processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in collaboration with various team members; confidence to express views
  • Effective writing and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple and easy-to-understand way for both financial and non-financial audiences at the highest levels in the organization
  • Confidence to embrace new ways of doing things, including automating functions, finding scalable solutions and driving continuous improvement
  • Proactivity; acts without being told what to do; brings new ideas to Wealthsimple
  • Honesty and integrity; doesn't cut corners; does what is right
  • A sense of urgency; likes to work in a fast-growing, dynamic environment

  • An advanced degree (MBA or masters level business or finance degree)
