Our Global Events team mission is to deliver an overarching event strategy across the business. We are committed to creating an exceptional attendee experience across all our global events, face-to-face & hybrid, as well as digital.
In this role, you will collaborate with marketing and the Percona community team, to strategize, design, and deliver key events. You’ll be involved in both internal and external event planning including our flagship bi-annual event: Percona Live. Managing complex assignments requiring your in-depth knowledge of our business, as well as the open source ecosystem, to deliver on our business and community-building goals. 
This is a remote role and we are open to candidates based in the US, Canada and Europe.

What You Will Do

  • Developing the overarching global event strategy, plan, and executing events in support of marketing/business goals and priorities
  • Managing the planning, logistics, and execution of all details for Percona Live
  • Support all aspects of planning including event sponsorship, ticket sales, technology needs, meeting space and food & beverage planning, signage, accommodations, templates, property sourcing, selection and contract negotiations, vendor and customer relations, accounts payable, transportation, survey development, etc
  • Partnering with internal stakeholder (community team and marketing) to lead the planning meetings/calls & deliverable updates
  • Manage budget reporting, including budget tracking, invoices, reconciliation of programs, expense reports
  • Lead and manage a small events team
  • Management of external partners and vendors expectations for multiple event projects

Your Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in events marketing and/or field marketing
  • Event planning experience and be comfortable in strategic deal-making
  • Passion for planning high touch, highly visible events
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a customer service focus and networking ability
  • Proven success performing well under deadlines with exceptional attention to detail
  • Success working in cross-functional teams
  • People management or leadership experience
  • Ability to multitask and keep calm under stress
  • Competency of technology tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Cvent and other event platforms
