The Business Operations PMO is a budding team at Scribd and we’re looking for our first teammate to help build out this brand new project management function. The mission of the PMO is to manage cross-functional initiatives, particularly those stemming from the Business side, and to drive programs to help the company scale. As a founding team member, the Program Manager will play a key part in laying the foundation for the department and shaping how it grows. We’re looking for someone who loves solving complex, often ambiguous, problems and reaching solutions in a collaborative manner. For clarity, this is initially a hands-on role in which you will be the one directly consulting with business partners on project requirements and orchestrating efforts across the company in order to define best practices at Scribd. Afterall, how else do you implement standards other than first executing yourself and working out the bugs?

You Will:

  • Lead both complex initiatives and individual projects from business case initiation to execution strategy through to go-live launch, initially focusing on system implementations and business process automation
  • Perform vendor selection and implementation vendor management for the IT, Business Systems, and Security GRC organization
  • Facilitate alignment with the Technical Project Management team on projects the cross into Scribd’s Engineering org
  • Define project management processes and enable scalable solutions to support business growth and address risks
  • Set PMO standards and devise best practices for the project management approach from scratch - there is a blank slate for you to leave your mark
  • Anticipate obstacles and proactively remove them before they become blockers to the initiative
  • Sample projects include: Netsuite implementation, order-to-cash automation, business continuity planning program management, onboarding process flow redesign

You Have:

  • 5-7 years in program/project management
  • Practical, well-rounded business experience, preferably in tech
  • Proven track record of managing successful software implementations
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence or similar project management tools
  • Ability to effectively manage people, internal and external, with no direct authority
  • Independently capable of seeking information in an unstructured environment
  • You challenge the status quo and strive for betterment

Ideally You Have:

  • Direct experience of successfully standing up PMOs for similar sized organizations
  • MBA and/or PMP certification
