The Systems Administrator is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of the company’s computer systems. These systems consist of physical, virtual, cloud based, and hybrid servers and applications. The Systems Administrator will seek to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the systems managed meet and exceeds the needs of the company, users, and IT.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Interface and coordinate with other departments and staff to accomplish your tasks
  • Install, support, and maintain server, network infrastructure
  • Document and maintain system administration procedures and policies
  • Reviews, evaluates, and recommends server and software components/projects that will yield cost effective and/or competitive advantages
  • Manage/document projects from beginning to end, set scheduling and deadlines, and coordinate with vendors
  • Evaluate Software and create proposals based on recommendations and comparisons
  • VMWare administration, templates, and managing VDI environments
  • Install, configure, and support all versions of Windows Server. Patching, migrating, and upgrading servers.
  • Design and Management of AD Group Policy
  • Microsoft SQL server setup and administration, log management
  • Manage, support and ensure exceptional delivery of technology infrastructure services, including but not limited to WAN, LAN and WLAN, IP telephony, telecommunications, and networks, including firewalls, switches and data center technologies


  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or related experience
  • 5+ years of experience performing server, deployments, patching, systems support, project planning, and systems management
  • Experience with organizing/maintaining and migrating active directory domains
  • Experience with file servers, DFS, Shadow Copy
  • Experiencing setting up and managing MS Exchange, working with PowerShell
  • Experience with mail journaling/ filtering and secure transport products
  • Expert knowledge in analyzing logs and troubleshooting issues related to server performance
  • Experience with deploying, configuring, and managing AV/UTM solutions to prevent, contain, and eliminate threats to the infrastructure and users
  • Experience with DHCP, DNS, Certificates, SSL
  • Experience with enterprise backup software, replication
  • Use and knowledge of Cloud/SaaS technologies focusing on migrations, support, and management
  • General knowledge of common networking protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, Spanning-Tree, IP, Ethernet)
