The Role   
• Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, hardware designers, and other stakeholders to design innovative solutions that meet business objectives and achieve high user acceptance
• Translate product requirements, user research, touch-point use models, and technical constraints into innovative software interfaces that create superb user experiences as part of an overall solution
• Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and intuitiveness to complex design challenges for multiple form factors, including mobile, console, desktop, and kiosk
• Create user flows, storyboards, wireframes, click-able prototypes, videos, and other media as necessary to effectively communicate, test, validate, and iterate designs with stakeholders
• Design and optimize UI architectures including overall organization, task and data flow, navigation schemes, and page composition frameworks to create intuitive experiences for each form factor and application purpose
• Execute visual design stages from wireframes to final visual specifications and assets for engineering
• Create and maintain a design system of common brand-compliant UI elements, design patterns, and assets that ensure harmonious look and feel across designers, applications, and form factors
• Establish and promote best practices, standards, and guidelines for the design team
• Conduct industry research and stay up-to-date on best practices, competitor UI designs, design trends, and emerging technologies
• Support the UI developers and the QA team to make sure features are implemented as intended
• Devise and incorporate tools to capture and analyze usage patterns and user feedback to identify issues and opportunities for improvement 

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of commercial UX and UI design experience
  • Experience designing complex solutions for digital + hardware ecosystems
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, XD, Axure, Balsamiq, Framer, or others
  • Demonstrable UI architecture design and composition skills
  • Demonstrable micro-interaction and visual design skills
  • Experience preparing pixel-perfect visual specifications and assets for UI developers
  • Ability to work with engineering, design, operations, and business teams to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that embody the company's vision and delight users
  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design and deliver solutions
  • Deep understanding of designing for multiple form-factors, including mobile-first/responsive, console/kiosk, and desktop
  • Experience in rapid prototyping
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients
  • Ability to compromise creatively and work effectively with other designers in a team setting
  • Ability to mentor more junior designers
  • Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation. Research and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, and heuristic analysis
  • Experience designing accessible software applications
  • Basic knowledge of UI development concepts as well as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
