We’re looking for a product designer to help us research, design, and deliver best-in-class products which provide high value to our customers and delight our end-users while aligning with our business objectives. 
As a Product Designer at StraighterLine, you’ll be responsible for researching and designing solutions, and partnering with research to test and validate solutions. You will work closely with product managers, the software development team, and other teams with high user interaction to drive good solutions with data and design.

Responsibilities

  • Align with a specific, integrated product line team while being responsible for understanding, obtaining, and synthesizing data in specific user workflows
  • Serve as a product designer and subject matter expert for specific customer workflows, partnering closely with product management, engineering, and other teams with high user interaction
  • Demonstrate research and analytic skills to fully understand the users and their goals and workflows
  • Coordinate current and future work with dedicated research teammates, customers and internal stakeholders, technical feasibility discussions with engineering, and participate in planning and scoping exercises with product
  • Contribute to the evolution of the design system
  • Produce design acceptance criteria to supplement story creation
  • Proactively identify opportunities but take an iterative approach to solutions towards the desired goal alongside the product roadmap
  • Participate in co-design sessions with stakeholders to quickly iterate and adapt as needed

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 3-4 years experience as a professional designer in a fast-paced SaaS environment
  • Minimum 1 major project using data to identify user needs, user tasks, usage scenarios, and incorporating user-centered design requirements from stakeholders, customer feedback, usage data, and business goals
  • Proven ability in at least three phases of UX: research, IA, wireframing, concept, high-fidelity design, prototyping, validation, data analysis
  • Demonstrated experience successfully performing iterative UX design work
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal oversight toward a team objective
  • Strong design fundamentals of sketching, concept creation and wireframing, producing sitemaps and user workflows (among other UX IA), creating interactive prototypes
  • Experience with Figma (and now FigJam), usage of variants, atomic design, and page templating
  • Knowledge of user-centered design principles and practices and human factors usability concepts
  • Knowledge of accessibility design requirements and practices
  • Experience or knowledge of web page structure and technologies (HTML, Javascript, CSS)
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders; facilitate cross-functional design discussions and gather feedback

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field that is supportive or directly related to design, or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times
  • Must be able to align work hours to the US East coast
