OverviewThe Senior Manager Deal Desk (Specialist) is responsible for primarily supporting Field Teams (Sales) in structuring deals (transactions), leveraging pricing strategy, quote management, facilitating contract reviews, and managing the end-to-end quote-to-cash process for the transactions in the sales territories they are assigned to.The Senior Manager Deal Desk (Specialist) is considered a “one-stop-shop” for Sales and works collaboratively with internal stakeholder organizations to ensure deals are executed with both velocity and accuracy, so that Sales representatives can focus on the Customer and generate net new business.Transactions (deal types) may include net new business (SaaS subscriptions), renewal, upsell and cross sell opportunities, as well as supporting Professional Services and Consulting opportunities, whether Direct or through/with Partners. Depending on the needs of the business Deal Desk Analysts and Specialists may be assigned to support different regions or aspects of the business.This role primarily coordinates proposals and exceptions approvals between Sales and internal approvers and stakeholders but may also occasionally be required to interact and negotiate directly with external customers and partners.Typical internal stakeholder organizations are Sales, Legal, Finance, Compliance, Product Management, Business Operations/Order Management, IT Operations and Security, etc.
Responsibilities-Serve as the trusted adviser to Sales on all deal related matters, advise the team on alternative contract options, and/or value propositioning to help drive deal value, velocity and closing probability.-Ensure compliance with sales and business approval policies-Engage with the Field Team to accelerate deal velocity-Collaborate with impacted parties to identify acceptable options to facilitate deal closure-Maintain and enforce agreed upon departmental review and approval SLAs-Effectively manage resources and provide appropriate visibility/escalations-Own the close process in the CRM, including audit of executed agreements to ensure that they are accurately reflected in the CRM-Partner with Sales Operations on process/system improvements-Partner with sales enablement on repeatable best practices and training opportunities-Deliver relevant training to new and existing sales people on deal desk, order processes and overall QTC best practices
Qualifications-Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated work experience in SaaS Deal Desk or related fields: Software-as-a-Service Sales/Accounting, Finance, -Revenue Recognition, Legal, Sales Operations or Business-to-Business Contracting/Negotiations.-BS/BA in a relevant field required (Business, Economics, IT, Finance) + MBA preferred.-Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.-Strong financial modeling and analysis skills.-Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Must be comfortable presenting business cases and complex pricing proposals to senior executives and creating and delivering training and enablement content to sales professionals and strategic partners.-Excellent understanding of various software licensing meters and models including but not limited to named and concurrent users, ELAs, term and subscription-based pricing, as well as hosted (SaaS) and other Cloud delivery models.-Strong understanding of SaaS revenue recognition methodologies.-Assist in the design and implementation of new tools and process improvements to support growth and scale.-Experience with CRM/SFA platforms like Salesforce.com (SFDC) and enterprise quoting and exception approval workflow systems (CPQ)  and enterprise contract management systems (CLM) such as Salesforce CPQ, Big Machines, Apttus, Ironclad, Icertis, etc..-Maintain confidential information and ensure it is handled with sensitivity.-Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and decision-making ability. -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet aggressive deadlines
