Program Associate, On Deck Founder Fellowship Ops / Remote / Operations / Full-TimeTL;DR: Fast-growing early-stage startup seeking Program Associate for On Deck Founder Fellowship. In doing so, we’ll empower the most ambitious people in the world to build the future. Details below — this role is fully remote.
About On DeckOn Deck is where ambitious people grow, together. On Deck is where the world's top talent comes to connect. Whatever it is our fellows want to do next, our ever-growing community and action-oriented programming will help them get there—fast. If our fellows want to learn something new to up-level their career, launch and scale big ideas, or make lifelong friends, this is the place.
Role OverviewThe On Deck Founders Fellowship is our longest-standing Fellowship and where On Deck holds its roots. We have launched 10 cohorts to date and have successfully found what we believe to be the secret sauce of helping ambitious Founders reach their goal of starting a new venture.
Our Fellows are our customers, our community, and core to everything we do: their experience and success are paramount. As a Program Associate, you'll work with the On Deck Founder Fellowship team to build and deliver the Fellowship platform, ultimately resulting in each Fellow in the On Deck Founders program deriving value from the program and community. You will directly support the operational efforts of the program while working alongside our ODF Experience team.
The Founders Fellowship doesn't happen without the Operations team executing on every last detail — that's where you come in.
As a Program Associate on the ODF team, your time will have a strong bias towards executing the daily logistics involved in community management – sourcing speakers and curating our calendar events, onboarding our Fellows into the community, executing on communications, and building internal infrastructure to support the program. This will also include automation, documentation, and the implementation of tools to improve the experience.
You'll work directly with the ODF Operations team, the Program Director, the Program Manager Sara Hennings, other Program Associates, and our Functional Ops Candidates and Experience teams. You'll also build relationships with On Deck Fellows and others on the On Deck team.
This is an incredibly exciting role, with lots of opportunities to learn, get your hands dirty, and take on lots of responsibility from Day 1.
On this team, you'll control the program structure, events & opportunities we offer to Fellows.
We’re looking for a force of nature; someone who will do whatever it takes — both strategically & tactically — to make a massive positive impact on our Fellows' lives.

Who you are:

  • Meticulously detail-oriented – you naturally take on ownership, have an eagerness to dive into the nitty-gritty, and pride yourself on not letting anything fall through the cracks.
  • High output + execution hustle — you embrace the generalist mindset and slot in wherever necessary. You are highly resourceful, an eager learner, and thrive in a scrappy and often chaotic environment.
  • Analytical + technical— your daily responsibilities will have you interfacing heavily with technology. Whether it be building/updating no-code infrastructure, generating reports, or executing on event logistics – it's paramount you're comfortable with tech!
  • Creative "spirit of service" — you think first how you can serve others, and are always seeking opportunities to support Fellows. Your default setting is to get creative, and you’re often the source of pleasant surprises to those around you.
  • Experienced working with entrepreneurs and the startup ecosystem (preferred, not required).
  • Experienced working with no-code tools and platforms like Airtable, Notion, Zapier, and Slack (preferred, not required).

What you will do:

  • Logistics and Operations — Program Associates ensure that the experience is seamless for Fellows and efficient for our team to deliver. You'll execute the process for onboarding new Fellows, create a run of show for complex virtual events, distribute calendar events and communications, and more. Juggling all of this will require a strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Onboarding of New Cohorts — you will be the sole owner of this process from start to finish. Roughly every 10 weeks we will onboard a new cohort of about 150 Fellows. As the owner of this process, you will create the execution plan, refine and update our processes as needed, and handle all communications internally and externally surrounding this process.
  • Calendar & Event Management — The Operations team is responsible for leading the charge on putting together the calendar events, curating the schedule, assigning teammates to host events, as well as handle all event logistics from start to finish.
  • No-Code Infrastructure — Program Associates work within our no-code stack to set up automation and infrastructure to ensure that we work smarter, not harder.
  • Community Management — Program Associates have great interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with a wide variety of humans. While we have an experience team interfacing heavily with our fellows, you'll still be expected to capture and review feedback from Fellows, make connections between community members, and become a curator and go-to team member for Fellows!
  • Communications — as a fully remote team and program, communication is at the core of a successful Program Associate. All types: verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, collaborative, both with the internal team and Fellows. You'll draft and send mail merges, write copy for event invitations, respond to DMs, and coordinate with a variety of people.
  • ...and whatever else will create value for Fellows. Our programs are dynamic and ever-evolving. We pride ourselves on a culture of experimentation and constantly look for opportunities to better curate, deliver, and enhance the fellowship experience for the Fellows.

Why you might be excited about us:

  • You'll have the opportunity to attend Program Associate Training Camp, allowing you to jump into your new role with foundational skills and confidence, creating value from Day 1.
  • You’ll be able to work remotely and (mostly) set your own schedule. On Deck was a remote-first team even before COVID, so we know what makes for a great remote environment.
  • We’re tackling a big problem with even bigger potential. Participants in our existing Fellowships say great things about us.
  • We're backed by a who’s who of the biggest names in the venture investing world, including Village Global, Keith Rabois, Balaji Srinivasan, Bloomberg Beta, and so many more. (Read more about our Series A in this memo)

Why you might *not* be excited about us:

  • We are a young company with about 150 people, so if you like more established companies, this role isn’t for you. You'll help create our company's culture.
  • We're an early-stage startup. Projects and priorities are likely to shift.
  • Everyone on the team is extremely mission-driven and works incredibly hard to push towards our lofty ambitions. Most people won’t be cut out for it.
  • You should be comfortable with just a dash of chaos. This is not the kind of job where you show up and we tell you exactly what to do every day.
  • On Deck is an unabashedly pro-startup, pro-tech organization. If that’s not your thing, this isn’t the place for you.
CompensationThis role comes with a competitive salary, stock options, you can take any PTO you need, anytime you need, and employee benefits including generous healthcare.
LocationOur team works remotely, and we are excited about candidates globally.  Please note that our team works on GMT-7 PST-friendly hours, so your location will affect your work hours, which may be difficult from Europe or Asia.
Start DateYou would start as soon as possible.
Equal Opportunity EmployerOn Deck is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need. We strongly encourage applications who are members of underrepresented communities to apply.
If you were to join On Deck, we'd want you to love it. We also know that it can be hard to tell from the outside looking in whether that would be the case for you. So, we challenged ourselves to develop an honest set of reasons someone wouldn't want to join our company. We hope it helps you make an informed decision about whether On Deck is a place you'd love to work. In summary, On Deck may not be the place for you if:
• Another company's mission gets you way more fired up.• You want a 9-5 job.• You do your best work in highly-structured, steady-paced, and meticulously-planned environments.• You like finding and poking holes more than you like filling them.• You see differences as divisions.
You can read the details of why On Deck may not be the company for you on our Non-Values page.
