The Senior Director of Brand Marketing is a critical and strategic role for Amyris. This role will be responsible and developing and executing our global marketing and sustainability strategy. 

Responsibilities:

  • Help strategize, develop, execute and inspire a holistic global brand strategy to drive awareness, new customer acquisition, engagement, loyalty and accelerated business growth.
  • Help develop a global brand management model that builds a world-class global team and balances global consistency with regional needs effectively. 
  • Position Brand as the global leader in effective and sustainable color cosmetics and skin care.
  • Oversee Global Brand Marketing, including brand strategy, annual and seasonal planning, sustainability strategy, consumer insights, advertising and retail marketing. 
  • Oversee annual and seasonal brand and product marketing campaigns, including messaging strategy, creative development and 360* activations.  
  • Drive Brand sustainability strategy, positioning brand as leading innovator, and all sustainability-related marketing efforts. 
  • Ensure consumer insights are consistently communicated out across teams and woven into annual and seasonal marketing strategies.  
  • Partner with leading retail partners to optimize collaboration and shared marketing strategy to fuel Brands growth across key retail channels.  
  • Help create a best-in-class content strategy that’s unique to Brand and helps reinforce differentiated brand pillars. 
  • Partner with global retailers to optimize collaboration, develop comprehensive marketing strategy that drives online and brick and mortar growth & launch unique own-able experiential ideas. 
  • Coach and mentor team members for success and hold them accountable for achieving results.
  • Manage P&L/budgets for Marketing consistent with business strategy and goals.
  • Partner with key internal and external stakeholders – including VP of E-commerce, Senior Director of Digital/Growth, Head of Creative and Chief Digital Officer – to execute and deliver on Marketing strategy and support the achievement of the organization’s growth goals.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify process efficiencies, drive for results and lead together as a leadership group.

Required Qualifications:

  • As a digital native, you will be fluent in mobile first digital marketing to Gen Z & millennial consumers.
  • Minimum of 10 + years in brand management scaling high profile consumer brands.
  • Passion for Color Cosmetics, skincare & beauty industry.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to clearly communicate a vision.
  • Strong aesthetic sense.
  • Experience with global cross-functional teams.
  • Thrive in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment without losing sight of the customer experience.
  • Team builder who develops and coaches team members to drive high performance and engagement.
  • Ability to maneuver through the organization effectively, building trusting and effective relationships.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, being able to influence and persuade a diverse audience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 13-15+ years of experience with Global Marketing, Beauty or Retail industry preferred.
