About the Role
Matterport is looking to hire a Manager of Business Development to play a critical role in developing and executing a partnership strategy focused on driving Matterport adoption and usage within key vertical markets.  This role at Matterport is responsible for building and managing strategic partnerships and supporting Matterport’s growing partner ecosystem. From reaching out and nurturing strategic account leads, you will be recruiting new partners and supporting key business development initiatives, playing a key role in the growth and success of Matterport globally.
The Business Development team drives partnerships and strategic initiatives that play an outsized role in differentiating and scaling Matterport’s platform and business. We work closely with external partners and across functions to identify, execute, and manage technology partnerships and product integrations, fostering a thriving ecosystem that delivers new innovation and lasting customer value. As a member of this entrepreneurial and results-oriented team, you will have an opportunity to influence and scale Matterport’s game-changing partnerships and the critical programs and systems that enable and support them.
This role will report to the Director responsible for our ecosystem and will collaborate closely with internal leaders in business development, product management, engineering, legal, marketing, and customer-facing organizations.

What you will do:

  • Cultivate, close, and grow strategic partnerships with key ecosystem companies, early adopter partners, and industry players.
  • Ensure new technology partnerships are constantly being launched and maximize their impact on revenue as well customer experience.
  • Lead all aspects of deal execution, from business case development, to deal structuring and negotiating.
  • Collaborate with in-country business development leads to inform and guide strategy based on global context.
  • Work alongside the direct and channel sales team to identify partnership opportunities that help drive partner-enabled and influenced customer leads and channel growth.
  • Lead the development and growth of the Matterport Platform Partner Ecosystem within high-priority new vertical markets where we have strong product/market fit.

Who you are:

  • BS/BA degree in a technically related field or equivalent.
  • MBA or a JD is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in business development or equivalent role, with experience working directly with external partners and internal cross-functional teams.
  • 5+ years of business development experience at enterprise SaaS companies, with experience working directly with senior leaders internally and external partners.
  • Proven ability to operate in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment, providing thought leadership and market context to drive consensus and reach key decisions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build strategy, frameworks around, and optimize partnerships using a metrics-driven approach.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting term sheets and negotiating complex, multi-faceted, and sometimes first-in-kind partnerships.
  • Ability to financially model and project returns on new initiatives and efforts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Strong personal initiative with proven ability to execute with little supervision and adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
