Talend is in search of an experienced, process driven, and open-minded Deal Desk Specialist to join our Commercial Operations team. Your focus will be on partnering with Sales Executives for strategic, nonstandard, and complex deals. You will advise on deal structure with a focus on maximizing ACV, compliance, and achieving proper approvals completed.

What you'll be doing...

  • Own strategic and complex deals from start to finish, acting as a trusted advisor for deal review and deal structuring.
  • Getting involved early in the deal process to prevent show stopping issues later in the booking process.
  • Serve as a trusted adviser to sales executives and their teams on pricing, product configuration, company policies, and how these relate to specific contract terms.
  • Assist Sales with documenting the business case for approval requests.
  • Develop well documented selling policies for use when structuring deals.
  • Collaborate with finance, tax, IT, sales management, and other internal business stakeholders to obtain all necessary approvals for contracts.
  • Maintain a strong presence and clear communication with Sales and Finance leadership.
  • Lead initiatives for sales enablement, including quoting, deal optimization, profitability, and strategic positioning.
  • Support any RFX processes as they arise.
  • Leverage reporting and analytics to get clarity on customer purchasing history.
  • Working with Talend attorneys on contract language and helping maintain a library of preapproved contract terms.
  • Reading and understanding an MSLSA.
  • Provide coverage when other team members are on leave.

About you...

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or relevant field.
  • You have 5+ years of experience dealing with SaaS sales to large enterprises.
  • You’ve had at least 3 years of experience with Salesforce, CPQ preferred
  • You are intellectually curious, resourceful, and relentlessly execute.
  • You have great written and verbal communication skills.
  • You think in systems and want to build good things for a good future.
  • You have excellent prioritization skills and the ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems.
  • You like to dig in and get your hands dirty.
  • You aren’t bother by learning to use new software tools.
  • You can do just about anything with tools like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • You have a strong focus on the reason why any company is successful: customers.
  • You understand when things aren’t perfect, and you get excited about making them better.

Bonus points!...

  • Additional foreign language skills.
  • Experience with both Channel, Cloud, and Direct Sales models is highly desirable.
  • Have a brilliant sense of humor, especially during busy quarterly close.
Although the role is listed as Philadelphia, it can be based anywhere in the US.
