As a Data Protection Solutions Architect this individual will be responsible for developing solutions that align with the organizational goals, technology architecture, roadmaps, and best practices. The ideal candidate will combine sales and technical skills to address client needs, drive business outcomes and partner with internal teams to help build customer relationships.

  • Responsible for driving pre-sales activities and the ability to drive business opportunities from opportunity identification, scoping process, and booking.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and prospects while designing, communicating, and advisement of company solutions.
  • Communicate clearly, and concisely the capabilities of offerings, advisory services, and delivery capabilities.
  • Develop high-level technical solutions and ability to present to customers.
  • Collaborate with the services teams to build and enhance services offerings.
  • Demonstrated experience with top enterprise class backup software.
  • Proficient with NetBackup and Data Domain environments.
  • Act as Solution Architect for complex and cross business unit backup solution.
  • Conduct key backup technology decision evaluations.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to produce backup solution.
  • Provide ongoing technical leadership and support during low level design, development, test, and service introduction phases including technical specification reviews and approvals.
  • Liaise with IT infrastructure service providers.
  • Collaborate with program/project/sustainment teams to reconcile solutions to problems.
  • Key deliverables: architecture definition, low level designs, solution blueprints, design specifications and procedures.


  • A minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience as a Solution Architect with a specific focus around enterprise backup, archiving, and storage solutions.
  • Ability to come up to speed quickly, gaining an understanding of the business problem/opportunity, project objectives, and high-level design completed to date.
  • Possess both traditional and progressive backup solutioning experience.
  • Superior written and verbal communication.
  • Solid understanding of the infrastructure domain and demonstrable experience with infrastructure backup related projects in the Solution Architect role.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure including in the following areas:Microsoft enterprise architecture, including Active Directory, System Center, Exchange, SharePoint, and collaboration tool. Data Center technology, including backup and recovery, server hardware, server operating systems (Windows Server 2016, IBM AIX, Redhat Linux), NetApp storage, network technologies and VMWare server virtualization. Modern backup tools, such as Commvault, Actifio, Rubrik, and/or Cohesity.
  • Demonstrable experience with testing and infrastructure tuning.
  • Strong business acumen combined with knowledge of industry standards and frameworks for delivering IT architecture and solutions such as TOGAF.
  • Demonstrable experience with facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Solid understanding of emerging technology themes like cloud computing as it relates to backup solutions.
  • Business acumen to ensure project scope will achieve business benefits.
  • Strong facilitation, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
