Who you are: We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Global Advisor, IT Asset Management who will develop and implement a scalable IT Asset Management and CMDB Framework that encompasses strategy, policy, adoption, governance and practice across the spectrum of technology assets used within the organization. What you’ll do: As a Global Advisor, IT Asset Management your key area of responsibility will be managing the IT Configuration and IT Asset Management process by selecting an appropriate tool to enable the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and IT asset database. You will need to collaborate and influence stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement best in class ITAM and CMDB practices. To be successful in this role you will be a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have proven leadership and coaching experience. The successful candidate will have strong customer service skills to ensure CMDB framework provides useful results to the end users. 

How you'll make an impact:

  • Develop and implement a scalable IT Asset Mgmt and CMDB Framework that encompases strategy, policy, adoption, governance approaches and practices across the spectrum of technology assets used.
  • Continuous improvement of current standards, processes and procedures with respect to ITAM and CMDB aligned with business needs.
  • Strong collaboration with all stakeholder groups, including vendors, to understand challenges and gain consensus on improved system and operational solutions.
  • Proactive identification of audit or control related risks and ownership of their documentation and remediation.
  • Focus on opportunities to automate process throughout all areas.
  • Develop reporting on remediation of technology asset-related risks and progress and progress of optimization activities.
  • Supervises Geotab’s response to software vendor license compliance audits or license validation requests in consultation with Vendor Management.
  • Delivery of a single, reliable source of truth for all configuration items.
  • Design of CMDB for specific use cases such as patching and vulnerability management, request automation and business continuity management.
  • Implement and support ISO27001 or NIST 800-53 compliance control frameworks.
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity standards and processes as well as requirements for recovery services.
  • Oversee the activities and performance of direct reports:
  • Engage in the development of the team by providing direction, coaching, providing feedback, identifying areas of growth and training opportunities.
  • Collaborate and support employees during the performance management process, meeting KPAs and career development planning.

What you’ll bring to this role:

  • 5 - 8 years of relevant IT experience in IT Controls, Auditing, asset management process owner or a similar role.
  • Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional certification in IT (e.g. GCP, MCP, MCSA,+, CCNA, AWS) highly valued.
  • Professional Certification in ITIL (v3/v4) is highly valued.
  • 3 - 5 years experience managing or developing teams.
  • Hands-on experience as a process owner in CMDB and IT Asset Management products, designs and procedures, with broad knowledge of asset and CI discovery tools, both agent-based and agentless.
  • Thorough understanding of application and/or service modeling concepts and modeling execution in the CMDB.
  • Experience in hardware asset lifecycle, procurement, acquisition, deployment, and disposal concepts and methodologies.
  • Proficient in reporting and analysis, particularly with respect to CMDB quality and process compliance.
  • Knowledge of IT General Controls, ISO 27001, ITIL, NIST, and COBIT.
  • Experience of both on premise and with cloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and/or SaaS, preferably Google or AWS.
  • Strong ability to understand, assess and prioritize risks across the components of the IT environment (application, operating system, cloud, and database).
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
  • A strong team-player with excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
