Kitware is seeking to hire highly skilled Research and Development Engineers (R&D Engineers) to join our Scientific Computing team and contribute to our scientific visualization efforts.  This position offers an opportunity to develop and improve leading visualization software solutions including the Visualization Toolkit (VTK) and ParaView.
About the Job: We are looking for talented individuals who will develop visualization algorithms, maintain and expand visualization toolkits and applications.

In This Position You Will:

  • Design and develop scalable data analysis and visualization tools for use by  researchers and professionals from various domains
  • Design and develop end-user tools for data analysis and visualization
  • Solve a wide array of problems ranging from developing distributed memory parallel algorithms for data analysis  and visualization to maintaining software on supercomputers
  • Contribute to the development of next generation data analysis and visualization tools Contribute to and support our dynamic open source communities built around several of our open source tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Highly proficient in C++
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering practical solutions to challenging scientific visualization problems
  • Minimum Masters or Ph.D. in computer science or a related field with corresponding emphasis on visualization, computational science, and good software development practice
  • Strong communication skills
  • This position is remote, however, the candidate must reside within the United States and the individual State is subject to approval
