The skinny

  • Lead the team in designing, developing and deploying consumer facing features and services with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
  • Enable the team to build and operate infrastructure, toolset and deployment pipelines so that the team can ship their features faster.
  • Manage the team by helping them prioritize, build, and ship the features that will provide the most innovative engagement experience for retail consumers for some of the biggest retail brands.
  • Comfortable to roll up your sleeves and dive in the code base, while also regularly providing feedback to the team on design and pull requests.
  • Build and grow your team through internal mentoring and by hiring quality engineers externally.
  • Become a team ambassador to help facilitate smooth communication and working relationships between various internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Constantly teach us how to be more innovative and efficient working in an agile environment.

The specs

  • You are first and foremost an engineer, passionate about writing reusable code designed towards scalability.
  • Optimize towards code quality over delivery – you know how to balance between both and your clients.
  • Passionate about leveraging best-of-breed technology and eager to learn new skills.
  • Trusted team player and a natural leader, be able to hire, grow and retail talented engineers.
  • Expert understanding of web application development across the entire technology stack.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, code deployment and content delivery strategy.
  • 5+ years engineering experience, preferably including a team lead role.

Pluses

  • React, Python, Django, Kubernates
  • CI, CD experience on one of the top Cloud providers
  • E-commerce experience
  • Start-up and SaaS experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • Previous experience managing agile/scrum team(s) of different skill levels - you know when to be a cheerleader, coach or player.
