Optimus Ride is looking for a Sr. Product Manager, AV Platforms to define and drive the strategy and roadmap for our fleet of autonomous vehicles.  In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with cross-functional business and technology teams and working with 3rd party partners to make feature trade-offs for our vehicle platforms and hardware features.  You will help shape the future of autonomous, shared mobility experiences by defining requirements and specifications of the vehicle platform capabilities and the in-vehicle features that are the foundation for the rider experience. 

Responsibilities

  • You will collaborate with Product Designers, Engineering, Systems Architects, Marketing, Business development, and Operations to define and deliver electric vehicles that support the Optimus Ride vision of shared mobility
  • Define vehicle requirements and customizations to meet operational specs of the mobility service
  • Work closely with autonomy software teams to define and translate perception, planning, and control requirements into hardware specifications
  • Translate the product vision into a strategy and roadmap that lays out priorities down to the feature level. 
  • Translate rider use cases into hardware requirements and work with product design teams to define rider interactions
  • Define rider and vehicle safety requirements and specifications
  • Define and manage vehicle LTV and operating requirements  

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent work experience in a relevant field is preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience in product management 
  • Experience in the electric vehicle automotive industry, or commercial vehicle, powersports, aerospace or related industry
  • Experience creating product roadmaps from conception to launch, driving product vision, defining go-to-market strategy, and leading design discussions
  • Advanced problem-solving skills ­with the ability to think creatively to resolve difficult situations with a proven record of follow-through 
  • Strong cross-functional relationship building with high empathy to understand the needs of other businesses and priorities
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication; comfortable presenting to cross-functional stakeholders
