Location:This position is 100% remote.
What will you do?The SEO & Digital Marketing Specialist will drive the way potential users connect with websites and other digital platforms in the U.S. Federal market, including the U.S. Administration for International Development (USAID). This role will be responsible for managing client SEO activities such as link building and keyword strategy to increase rankings on major search networks and/or social media platforms and otherwise contribute to digital marketing and/or content strategy efforts. This role also may manage search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns on Google, Yahoo and Bing to achieve goals and maximize return on investment. 


  • Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing.
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion, and optimization.
  • Develop and implement link building strategy.
  • Research and analyze competitor advertising links.
  • Work with project managers to develop and monitor project plans and schedules to meet marketing goals, budgets, and timelines.
  • Work with the web development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on newly developed code; recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.
  • Work with editorial and marketing teams to drive SEO in content creation and content programming.
  • Ensure marketing programs are set up properly in various marketing tools, including Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, HubSpot, Mailchimp, and others as available.
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness, goal attribution, and provide recommendations for optimization across the campaign lifecycle.
  • Perform other duties as required.


  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in marketing, data, testing, computer science. 
  • 3 years of search engine optimization experience. 
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition. 
  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Net Insight, Omniture, WebTrends). 
  • Proven Search Engine Marketing (SEM) experience managing pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns across Google, Yahoo and Bing. 
  • Experience with bid management tools (e.g., Click Equations, Marin, Kenshoo, Search Ignite). 
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments. 
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints. 
  • Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms. 
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM. 

Nice to Haves:

  • Familiarity with USAID programs highly desired.
