Boulevard is a PayFac (Payment Facilitator). Merchants use our integrated software platform for processing payments. With Payments, there can be disputes/chargebacks that arise. As part of the Boulevard Payments team, you will be responsible for managing Merchant chargebacks - coordinating and processing chargebacks with merchants and our acquiring partner. You will ensure time-sensitive processing while meeting Boulevard, the acquirer, and credit card associations' rules and guidelines. This will involve handling aspects of the chargeback process from data collection, determining correct reasoning, and submitting back to the acquirer. This person will ensure that all processes are completed within the specified time frames, while effectively, and accurately communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.
An ideal candidate will have previous experience working with chargebacks, have an understanding of the processes & rules related to chargeback processing & ideas, and understand guidelines & best practices to improve chargeback win rates for our merchants.

What you’ll do here:

  • Analyze and understand reporting for bank card transaction disputes.
  • Process chargebacks accurately and efficiently.
  • Assess dispute information, work with merchants in deciding the appropriate next steps.
  • Prepare and submit documentation, along with related artifacts, for representing chargebacks.
  • Communicate with merchants as necessary during the chargeback life cycle as appropriate.
  • Report metrics related to chargebacks
  • Help with educating merchants on best practices related to risk and fraud management
  • Collaborate with other customer success team members and various internal teams to make sure clients are delighted by Boulevard’s offering

What you’ll need to thrive:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of related experience
  • Self Starter: The ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision or direction
  • High Quality Communicator: Top notch communicator, with excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Timely: Able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and solid data entry accuracy
  • Career Goals: The drive to take the next step in your career and follow a structured career growth plan
  • Inquisitive Nature: An aptitude to understand Boulevard's technology and payment processing platform
  • BONUS POINTS Previous experience at a tech start-up or Payment Processor/Facilitator

Within 1 month you’ll...

  • Graduate from Boulevard’s platform training course 
  • Connect with the Partner Success and Payments team, along with key employee management stakeholders across the company
  • Learn and understand the core business objectives and areas for improvement
  • Suggest best practices and improvements for our Payments Dispute Process

Within 3 months you’ll…

  • Begin to pick up and learn new tools and technologies for your own career growth 
  • Take on various responsibilities outside of payment dispute management
  • Work to help automate various aspects of your role with the engineering team
