We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Senior Government RFP Manager who will function as a “bid manager” overseeing the development of processes, proposals, bids, quotations or other documents describing organizational products and services in response to requests from prospective customers with a focus on US government RFXs. What you'll do:
As a Senior Government RFP Manager your key area of responsibility will be leading and delivering competitive, high quality proposals/bid responses to prospective and current Geotab customers with a focus on government customers at all levels, including US federal, state, local and related agencies. You will be responsible to ensure RFX/bid requirements are reviewed and approved appropriately and that deadlines are communicated to applicable parties and met. You will also need to lead the RFX/proposal life cycle: kick-off meetings, the analysis of requirements and strategy development, risk assessment/mitigation, and the creation of high-quality proposals/bid responses showcasing Geotab’s value proposition. You will need to work closely with Geotab’s Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Compliance and Legal teams. To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience in US government RFXs, be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to engage with all levels of the organization. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through completion. The successful candidate will also be able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines. This position is open to working remotely from the USA or Canada.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Lead and deliver competitive, high quality proposals/bid responses to prospective and current Geotab customers with a focus on US government customers at all levels, including federal, state, local and related agencies. 
  • Consult, co-ordinate and project manage Geotab resources to assist with large scale government opportunities.
  • Participate in the RFX/proposal life cycle: kick-off meetings, the analysis of requirements and strategy development, risk assessment/mitigation, and the creation of high-quality proposals showcasing Geotab’s value proposition.
  • Ensure RFX/proposal requirements are reviewed and approved appropriately and that deadlines are communicated to applicable parties and met.
  • Ensure Geotab approvals procedures and processes are followed.
  • Interact with Geotab sales, partners and technical teams to ensure accuracy in business and technical responses.
  • Contribute to mentoring of Geotab employees.
  • Provide training and support to Geotab employees on government subject expertise.
  • Maintain RFP response database.
  • Transform business and technical product information into concise, easy to understand written material.
  • Support Geotab’s global strategic initiatives.
  • This position has no managerial responsibilities and no direct reports.

What you'll bring to this role:

  • 8+ years of experience as an RFP/Proposal Manager or writing, editing, and coordinating responses to RFPs/RFIs with extensive experience in government responses.
  • Diploma/Degree specialization in Business, Communications or a related field.
  • Professional Certification in Proposal Management (e.g APMP Professional Certification, NCMA’s Certified Federal Contract Manager designation) is highly valued.
  • Experience directly supporting a sales organization, experience in managing a library of information that can be accessed and used easily.
  • Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.
  • Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent team player with ability to motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing for sales/marketing needs in a technical environment.
  • Experience leveraging CRM tools (i.e., Salesforce) and RFP360 required.
  • Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve to well-judged decisions.
  • A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
  • Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
