As a Solution Architect, you will leverage your technical acumen to serve as a trusted advisor to our prospects & customers, helping them understand and evaluate Treasure Data's CDP in the context of their marketing strategy and data architecture.
At Treasure Data we work with some of the most complex distributed marketing, advertising, and processing systems and our customers challenge us with interesting new marketing and big-data processing requirements. As the complexity grows for both us and our customers, we are looking to our Solutions Architects to fully understand the architecture that powers our product and how it can be implemented. Our Solutions Architects not only work with technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka but are well versed in marketing and advertising technology stacks,  recommend product features, and actively contribute to the open source community. This is a pre-sales and post-sales position where you will work with customers to identify use cases for Treasure Data, and see them through using the product. Our customers are highly technical, so you must be too.
As the technical alter-ego working with our sales teams, you will help strategize and execute on opportunities, including gathering technical background/requirements from customers, creating evaluation project plans, managing the technical phases of the sales cycle, and guiding customers and prospects in the architecture and implementation of their use cases on the Treasure Data platform during pre & post sale opportunities. 
You will be the technical translator to the sales team, and the customer advocate when working with internal teams. Because you are so close to the product and the customer, you'll be a critical part of driving the product roadmap and evolution to capture the needs of this exploding market.When it comes to delivering disruptive solutions to age-old problems, you are the expert.  This can be demonstrated by a track record of happy, referenceable customers who appreciate your technical acumen and your diligence. This is a hands-on role – be ready to jump in and use the product from your first day.
The Role: Provide technical leadership in a pre-sales and post-sales capacity for customers to support successful understanding, evaluation and adoption of Treasure DataGuide customers and prospects in the architecture and implementation of their use cases on the Treasure Data platformConsult on architecture and design, bootstrap and/or implement strategic customer projectsBuild references architectures, how-tos, and demo applications for customersEngage with data engineers, marketers, software engineers, data analysts, and IT confidently and succinctly to identify and solve their business challengesOwn presales blueprinting, scoping, technical requirements gathering, development, and transition to support/account managementServe as a trusted advisor to prospects by using your understanding of what drives marketing teams in the pursuit of data driven marketingLead technical deep-dive demos of the product where neededCollaborate cross functionally to respond to RFIs and RFPs issued by customers

Your background and skills will include

  • Excellent presentation and whiteboarding skills
  • Ability to design and architect distributed data systems
  • A strong background in data & technology, deep knowledge and experience in SQL, ETL, and data warehouse design/implementation
  • Being a pre-sales superstar, deeply technical with great customer skills, and know-how to successfully work as a trusted advisor to ensure the success of prospects and customers
  • Having successfully sold and/or deployed data-oriented solutions in the recent past (DW, BI, ETL, Hadoop, etc)
  • Have experience in ETL or Data Warehouse design/implementationA good understanding of web development, Javascript, and software architecture  
  • Have strong customer communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to dive into technical topics 
  • Ability to effectively communicate remotely, and travel to customer sites for demos and meetings when necessary

We would be thrilled if you

  • Have prior experience working with CDPs
  • Have experience selling Cloud-based or SaaS adtech/martech solutions
  • Have good knowledge of and working experience in Python
  • Have wide industry experience across media, entertainment, retail, CPG, auto, gaming, and financial services
  • Have a good knowledge of data science concepts
  • Have experience working with Big Data technologies (such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive/Pig, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc)
  • Have an understanding or experience in AI/ML in Python or SQL
