About the team
The Lifecycle team is on the front line of our direct and triggered communications to our customer base, crucial to the success of Scribd! We serve lifecycle and transactional emails to millions of Scribd users around the world, and we’re responsible for driving a significant portion of Scribd’s growth. Our team is a hybrid of marketers and engineers who are passionate about the impact of lifecycle notifications (email and push). 
We’re looking for a Lifecycle Operations Manager who shares this drive and is excited to help scale the team by partnering with our product and engineering stakeholders, managing our database in Iterable, and leading bug investigations and incident responses.
About the role
As the linchpin between lifecycle, product, and engineering, the Lifecycle Operations Manager will support marketing and product strategies. You’ll manage cross-team projects and bring ownership to Scribd’s suite of transactional emails.
This role is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate. In addition to partnering with product stakeholders to optimize transactional account emails like password resets and payment update reminders, you’ll manage Iterable as an internal product that enables Scribd to reach millions of users via email and push notifications. This will include designing data structures, ensuring we use best practices in our workflows and segmentations, and leading bug investigations.
On any day you might
Partner with a product manager to rebuild our user-facing email subscription settings. Investigate a bug with an Iterable workflow. Work with stakeholders to define the requirements for a new Looker dashboard and then partner with business analytics to build it out. Support a crisis communications strategy with a segmented transactional campaign. Write a product brief for a new email verification user flow or review a tech doc for a new data pipeline. Work with an engineering resource to define new fields for the user profile in Iterable. Lead a project kickoff call or a sprint grooming session.
About you
You see the big picture and thrive on the details. You have both business acumen and technical fluency, and enjoy understanding other people’s ideas as much as communicating your own. You have a passion for learning and view problems as opportunities.You’ve optimized emails to create a great user experience and evaluated the impact of that work against company-wide goals and metrics.
You can talk with engineers about database design. You know the difference between relational and object-oriented, and can discuss the value of different approaches to expanding the data available in our Iterable instance in order to facilitate new lifecycle strategies.Bonus points if you have experience with subscription services, mobile apps, or supporting international markets through localized content and translations. Technical background with some coding experience? Amazing.
You have the following qualifications:
• 3-5 years’ experience with email, CRM, or Lifecycle management• Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and design systemic solutions• Ability to collaborate with individuals across the organization and a willingness to "roll up the sleeves" to accomplish necessary tasks• Experience with project management• Very comfortable querying databases (Databricks, SQL)• Proficient with A/B test design and reporting• Four-year degree or equivalent professional experience Benefits, Perks and Wellbeing at Scribd
