What you'll do

  • Join a team of engineers to help architect, build and evolve ASAPP’s core services to serve our current and future scale needs
  • Design and implement systems to manage exponential increase of volume in our Omni (Voice and Digital) product
  • Be an active mentor to junior engineers
  • Participate in team’s on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues
  • Raise the bar of ASAPP’s engineering culture

What you'll need

  • 5+ years experience designing, architecting and building large scale distributed systems with high throughput
  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages, data store systems and message queues. We use Go, Typescript, Python, data stores - MySQL, Redis and message queues - Kafka, RabbitMQ. Experience with any similar technology or language is fine
  • Self-learner, independent, and have outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Very comfortable with all aspects of backend engineering and methodologies like coding, testing, observability.

What we'd like to see

  • 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Kubernetes etc. 
  • Advanced knowledge of tradeoffs in scaling datastores like different sharding or replication strategies etc. 
  • Deep understanding of what it takes to build and operate highly available systems at scale
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field, or equivalent hands-on experience
