We are looking for a Medical Coder who will be working within the Customer Insight Analytics team to quantify Expert Medical Opinion cases. The Medical Coder will assign required Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), National Drug Code (NDC) and International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM).
To ensure success, you need to make judicious decisions on which codes to assign in each expert reviewed case, function to a high level of accuracy and consistency. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, technically capable and has great organizational skills.


  • Extracting relevant information from expert opinion case reviews notes.
  • Liaising with staff physicians and clinicians to clarify information.
  • Examining documents for missing information.
  • Assigning relevant medical codes including, but not limited to, CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, and NDC codes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensuring documents are grammatically correct and free from typing errors.
  • Advising and training physicians and staff on enhancements to digital clinical management systems for coding efficiencies.
  • Supporting team strategy on the use of medical codes and claims data.
  • Ensuring compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines.


  • Bachelor’s degree required (Information Systems or other related field/experience preferred).
  • 2+ years work experience as a Medical Coder.
  • American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) certification OR American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) certification.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Strong people skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt coding practices in unique business cases.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • (Preferred) Experience with SuperCoder
