Our Levvel Team is growing! We are seeking a Senior Manager (SrM) to join our Financial Services and Payments practice. As a SrM you have a strong understanding of the business, technology and operations, including knowledge of products and intermediary service providers in one or more areas within the Banking and Payments space.   As a Senior Financial Services Manager you will serve as a functional team lead and manager with significant experience within the Financial Services domain and professional services consulting. As a successful SrM at Levvel you must be proactive, take the initiative, and be comfortable being assertive. In this role, you will be focused on applying thought leadership, strategy, management, and individual contributor skills to ensure the success of Levvel’s employees, clients, and engagements. You must be tenacious in finding answers and solving challenging problems with a strong degree of critical thinking and emotional intelligence. As a SrM, you must have a strong ability to juggle priorities in order to meet deadlines, all while retaining consistently high-quality outcomes.
In this Senior Manager role, you must have the ability to plan ahead and add value quickly, as well as be willing to get hands on when needed. As a successful Senior Manager at Levvel, you must have strong decision making skills and an ability to lead, while collaborating within and beyond your team.  In your role you will work closely with your team of consultants offering both support and mentorship across multiple engagements and our Client Solutions teams, as well as work alongside numerous stakeholders throughout the organization. You will manage risk escalation across the entire Financial Services and Payments practice, work with client account leadership to set client expectations, and manage those expectations accordingly. You will also be responsible for strategic planning and working to contribute to marketing content and thought leadership initiatives. As a strong Senior Manager, you will apply passion and knowledge of banking and payments to create POVs that build awareness of Levvel’s FSP capabilities and drive revenue. Within your first six months, you will have a thorough understanding of the entire portfolio and the range of deliverables being developed, all while having worked through a number of strategies with clear plans of action that improve the portfolio processes, people and business-value focus. You will also have worked on numerous efforts to drive content marketing strategy forward, and have a strong presence within your team and in your professional network. Within this time, you will be a strong leader for your team and have cultivated  relationships with other leaders and stakeholders throughout the organization.

  • Manage the consulting team responsible for all engagements for the Financial Services and Payment vertical.
  • Ability to act as sole individual contributor when necessary and take full ownership of assigned project work.
  • Offer deep domain expertise, across banking and payments, to guide internal teams and client teams on industry best practices and solving the most difficult of industry challenges.
  • Partner with Client Solutions team to support sales efforts, including providing perspective and expertise in devising approaches to client problems.
  • Lead client meetings and demonstrate hands-on leadership on projects while empowering teammates to become leaders themselves.
  • Implement best practices on documenting project work to ensure successful handoff to our clients.
  • Able to solve problems by looking at multiple solutions and weighing tradeoffs to get to the core of business issues quickly and efficiently. 
  • Provide domain expertise to support Client Solutions in scoping of project work.
  • Work with Client Solutions to deliver quality work product to clients and communicate effectively to Client Solutions if predefined timelines need to be adjusted.
  • Cultivate successful client relationships in order to become a trusted advisor within domain expertise.
  • Maintain positive employee relations with direct reports through regular 1:1s while providing ongoing coaching and feedback. This includes helping reports define and execute short-term and long-term goals.
  • Offer direction for employees on bench time that aligns with growing new skills to help with utilization or contribution to any internal initiatives.
  • Work with Client Solutions Lead to define engagement models.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience, 3+ years with management responsibilities.
  • Experience in multiple domain areas – Digital Banking, Open Banking, Core Banking Products (e.g. checking, savings), Real Time Payments, Zelle, ACH, Wire, Card Payments, Merchant Payments, Payment Operations, and neobanks.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to lead large projects, build strong and effective business relationships
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, identify and analyze issues, and develop structured solutions in the project environment with a large group of diverse stakeholders and participants.
  • Able to have hard conversations, including candid feedback with team members of all levels to enable collaborative growth.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively develop team members to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Ability to present technical data and approaches to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to lead a team and work collaboratively with clients and other team members.
  • Strong connection to social networks and industry conferences that enhance your professional presence within the industry.
  • Proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines and challenging, and sometimes shifting, constraints

Preferred Skills

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • 3-5 years of experience working on large-scale change initiatives in Banking or Payments, working either directly or with a professional services firm
  • Working knowledge of payment messaging standards in the financial services industry
  • Familiarity with new and emerging digital payment capabilities, including mobile wallets and card tokenization schemes
  • Familiarity with digital innovation and/or product development within a financial services institution
  • Experience in executing programs using Agile methodologies
