Your role and impact

The Data Science team applies machine learning to improve the efficiency of our clinic and the usability of our software for medical professionals.

As a Research Scientist, you will provide expertise on machine learning and optimization methods. You’ll contribute to clinical efficiency by refining existing machine learning features. You’ll also conduct research to explore novel applications of machine learning in clinical practice. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Doctors, Systems Engineers, User Experience Designers and many others.

Responsibilities

  • Production machine learning
    • Improve existing machine learning models
    • Wrap machine learning models in production-grade web services
    • Ensure smooth operation of machine learning web services
    • Collaborate on code quality and technical design
  • Exploratory machine learning
    • Develop prototypes of machine learning features
    • Refine prototypes with frequent feedback from physicians  and other subject matter experts
    • Create data sets

Our current technology stack includes: Python, Flask, scikit-learn, Keras, Tensorflow, AWS, Docker, Jenkins, AWS Lambda and CDK

Qualifications

  • Experience in professional software development in a team environment, such as an internship
  • 2+ years of experience with exploratory software development, such as a doctoral dissertation, early-stage startup project or creation of a new line of business
  • 2+ years of experience with machine learning
  • 1+ years of experience with natural language processing
  • Willingness to learn engineering skills as needed, such as web service development, AWS infrastructure or Jenkins
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the UX team, PMs and doctor
