Overview: The successful candidate will be a thought leader with a proven record of developing and leading global intelligence programs with a focus on threat identification, globalized teams, and 24x7 operations. In this role, the leader will bring together our globalized team and develop strategies to scale our resources, processes, and technologies to support Amazon’s continued Employee and business growth.

Customers: This is a high impact role requiring the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders including Corporate Security, other Security organizations within the same company, Global Real Estate, Finance, Public Policy, Procurement as well as proactively manage external vendors/service providers to ensure best-in-class service and technology.

About the Role: The leader will be responsible for managing a global team, a 24x7 operational function, focused on identifying and reporting threats and deploying travel security best practices. They will provide anticipatory warning and course of action recommendations in support of business strategies. The Manager is expected to be a creative thinker – capable of spotting and forecasting emerging trends and threats while outlining mitigation techniques. This role has the opportunity to provide the organization with a decision advantage on a global scale. Additionally, the position will also support global travel security initiatives and high risk travel situations. Success in this role involves global thought leadership and nimble execution in order to advance our service model. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable delivering on operational goals and process/program transformation. This is a leadership role with global program oversight.

Main Responsibilities:
· Intelligence and Analysis
· Architect GIU strategies, design, and global business integrations (think: from good to great)
· Build a great team; hire, motivate, and foster an exceptional workplace
· Active threat/risk monitoring and reporting (indications and warning)
· Provide travel and security intelligence information
· Risk-based guidance to lines of business and leadership in response to critical incidents and travel security
· Regional focus includes the Americas (NORAM and LATAM)
· Prepare and provide intelligence, threat, and risk assessments (Analysis, briefings, and ad-hoc research)
Leadership and Management:
· Management of 24x7 threat identification, analysis, and reporting
· Oversight and governance of contracts and embedded yet globally dispersed team
· Virtual management and leadership
· Build a great team; hiring, motivating, and fostering an exceptional workplace
· Develop and continuously refresh the team’s technical roadmap
· Administrative
· Procure contracted services, develop RFPs, and deliver a myriad of contract vehicles
· Maintain global threat databases, subscriptions, and archives
· Develop and deliver category metrics
· Manage budgets, forecasting, and fiscal reporting duties
· Incorporate Customer feedback to deliver results and raise the bar
Other Responsibilities:
· Identify, build, and sustain relationships with industry specialists - globally
· Support the team during times of emergency and protracted response and recovery efforts
· Willingness to work on-call and irregular hours; desire to support global crisis response needs
· Light travel (domestic and globally)

Basic Qualifications

· 10+ years' experience direct intelligence experience
· 5+ years' experience direct intelligence experience working within the private sector
· 5+ years' experience managing and leading teams (contracted or full-time)
· 3+ years' experience with regionally-focused intelligence, analytics, or research experience (Americas)


Preferred Qualifications

· Superstar communication abilities; must be able to write/present with impact
· Operations (24x7) and/or intelligence center experience
· Spanish language and cultural proficiencies
· Understanding and experience with data science technology
· Direct experience managing travel security cases (vendor, private sector, or government entity)
· Ability to formulate, and successfully deploy, threat and risk methodologies and services
· Demonstrated experience with analytical tools and processes (ArcGIS, PPT, Excel macros, pivot tables, linking tables); experience in research methods related to quantitative and qualitative evaluation
· Crisis management, response, or preparedness experience (CEM, ICS, or other)
· Strong relationships with Government, LE, and global intelligence and travel security associations
· Technical competencies: MS Office Suite (Visio, Excel, SharePoint); Ability to manage large data arrays, Tableau, search engines, and other relevant tools
