The corporate development team works cross-functionally to help achieve Invitae’s mission. We focus on evaluating and executing acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships. We are also responsible for all aspects of post-acquisition integration. The team is small and works closely with Invitae’s management team and other senior leaders across the organization.

As an acquisition integration lead, your role will focus on integration planning and execution for Invitae’s acquisitions. This includes building out Invitae’s integration capabilities and leading integration efforts by defining acquisition objectives and implementing actionable plans to achieve such objectives. As part of the corporate development team, you will also support evaluation of strategic opportunities for Invitae. In this position, you will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to ensure all relevant tasks are completed and objectives are realized.

In order to do this, your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Participate in due diligence and understand / develop strategic objectives for acquisition
  • Lead integration planning: define, track, and communicate appropriate workstreams and performance measurements to project team to ensure deal objectives are achieved
  • Set overall program direction, planning, management of the integration program
  • Constantly monitor execution risk and interdependencies and push team to develop plans to mitigate risk and issues
  • Resolve major cross-functional issues and risks where possible, escalating them as required. Predict problems and solve them before they impact teams
  • Work closely with functional teams to plan, prioritize, and execute projects on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards
  • Provide regular updates to the leadership team on progress, key decisions, and major risks / issues that need to be resolved
  • Build out and continuously improve Invitae’s integration capabilities by developing best practices and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the team
  • Mentor, lead, and inspire others

 What you bring:

  • 4+ years of M&A integration experience in industry or consulting environment 
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Effective and collaborative communication and writing skills, with the ability to customize approach for a variety of audiences
  • Excellent planning, analytical and interpersonal skills with an ability to execute and communicate strategy in an organized and structured way
  • Strong bias to action
  • Nice to have: Project Management Professional certification
