Lead Engineering Manager, Studios Projects

Lambda Studios is a development agency inside Lambda School where qualified graduates from Lambda School work on complex software projects for companies. Lambda School is seeking a Lead Engineering Manager to create processes around code quality and technical infrastructure across all projects. This role is at the fun intersection of engineering manager, educator, and organization leader. We are looking for people who have strong opinions on both code quality and developer education.

What you'll do

• Be responsible for code quality metrics across all projects
• Work directly on some of the projects as the engineering manager so you understand the graduate experience
• Work with the Lead Technical Product Manager to create process on how to scope products
• Work with the Studios team to create the best consultancy experience for graduates in the world
• Recruit and manage engineering managers who will be interfacing directly with graduates and projects

What you'll need

• 2-5 years experience working as a software engineer on web products
• Experience running a software project as the lead engineer
• Have a decent understanding of data science and how to scope data science projects
• Have very strong opinions about code quality, testing, and technical infrastructure. You know what processes go into making a great software product.
• Have experience mentoring junior developers and have strong opinions on how to turn them into senior developers
• Significant experience with React, Node, PostgreSQL
• Experience quickly picking up new technologies
• Excellent communication skills and comfort with public speaking
• Experience working within a development agency on various projects is a plus
