Sr. Space Technical Product Manager

In 2020, AWS launched the unified Aerospace and Satellite solutions (A&S) business area, concentrating our resources on helping our customers and partners develop solutions for space. A&S is helping AWS impact the cloud-addressable space market segment and provide long-term benefit to our customers by focusing on space and satellite innovation.

In this position, you will play a pivotal role defining AWS-wide space business opportunities and go-to-market strategies while tirelessly championing the needs and requirements of AWS space customers. Given the breadth of the space services we are building, this role will require managing major products across AWS service teams while influencing the space market segment and will be visible at the highest levels of the company. You’ll own customer engagement and drive strategic product communications with our customers, partners, software and hardware vendors, and operational stakeholders to prioritize services and roadmap features, and spearhead the definition of new capabilities through expertly crafted business requirements documents.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
· Creating product strategies for undefined space services that appeal to unique needs and requirements of customers that work in space or use space data at an enterprise level
· Define AWS space solutions and drive positioning, launches, and strategic partnerships across the space industry
· Define communication framework for articulating A&S disruptive space capabilities
· Support development of long-term strategy and vision, focus areas, and business approach
· Create validation process for the tech focus areas and associated products such as customer case studies
· Apply deep understanding of core AWS and space technologies used in the space domain and evaluate technology trade spaces to propose relevant technical options and solutions
· Identify evangelism opportunities for the A&S Tech team to represent AWS's space vision to the world and drive strategic product communications
· Managing product life cycle(s) from strategic planning to tactical execution
· Launching the space product vision, strategy and roadmap and working with key AWS stakeholders to deliver on that vision and drive alignment and product strategies
· Defining product requirements documents based on an intimate knowledge of AWS space market segments, target customers, and products
· Responsible for go-to-market plans and sales enablement, working to ensure sales, Solution Architects, ProServe, and partner teams have what they need to be successful
· Collaborate with Sales, Solution Architects, and Service teams to build minimum viable products
· Establishing goals and reviewing metrics to identify opportunities and deliver success
· Research and identify new opportunities for AWS to innovate on behalf of our customers

Basic Qualifications
· 8+ years in engineering, product management or relevant experience is required
· 3+ years’ experience with software product management, development, engineering
· Demonstrated understanding of satellite missions, spacecraft architectures and hardware, and of deploying satellite systems and constellations at scale through a minimum of two years of experience within the Aerospace or Satellite industries.
· Bachelor degree in engineering, business administration or related field, is required

· Experience with building products and services for partners, resellers, managed services providers, and consulting companies· Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally
· Ability to analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and scope business requirements
· Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion
· Ability to meet tight deadlines while building creative solutions.
· Exceptional problem-solving skills, strong business judgment
· Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams to solve undefined business problems and impact the entire space industry
· Ability to engage customers and design straightforward and technical product value propositions for large technical audiences
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $110,900.00 - $160,000.00 year however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
