🚀 About the position:

The Chief Product Officer role is a key part of our Senior Leadership team. In your role as CPO, you play an integral part in the creation of the companies strategy, as well as leading the product strategy of the Grip Market Engagement Platform inline with the business vision and company strategy.

The Chief Product Officer role is new at Grip and an exciting opportunity for an experienced product leader to scale and coach an existing team of product managers and designers.

The Grip platform is an exciting multi-faceted product with a complete SaaS dashboard for event organisers. The product also has a complete engagement platform for event participants across web and mobile which includes streaming, content, and networking which is underpinned by our award-winning AI-powered Matchmaking Engine.

🚀 Core Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Chief Product Officer can be split into partly management of the team as well as leading the product strategy, as such, we’ve split the responsibilities into two.

Product Strategy

  • Own and shape the product strategy based on our companies goals, client needs, and the desires of the event participants that use our products while having full awareness of our position in the market.
  • Driving organisational alignment and providing an overarching sense of direction for product teams and other stakeholders. Making sure that the product team is narrowing in on the opportunities that matter most to the company, evangelising for the whole "portfolio" of products, and making/supporting strategic decisions when necessary (e.g. when to stop, exit, pivot, etc.), leading "portfolio-level" stakeholder management.
  • Analysing the qualitative and quantitative data and KPIs to ensure product's sustainable improvement.
  • Develops, reviews, and defines the Grip's product offering, goals, and strategies that contribute to the overall business goals
  • Work with the product team and other stakeholders to deliver a consistent product strategy across all platforms based on data, user research, and understanding of the business goals.
  • Provide stable and clear “Northstar” for teams to work towards over an extended period of time.
  • Develop fruitful relationships with third-party technology suppliers including the provision of additional technologies within Grip solutions.


  • Lead, grow, and manage exceptional product teams through being a mentor and coach for product managers while championing the craft of product management at Grip by creating a strong product culture.
  • Foster conditions for product teams to do their best work, providing product management subject matter expertise, shielding cross-functional teams from unnecessary noise in the organization while working with other leaders in the company.
  • Coordinating and supervising the development teams, design team, marketing, and data analysts.
  • Improve our Product Team's practices and processes, leading to better product decisions and execution.
  • Help establish clear responsibilities and KPIs for each product team member.
  • Operate as a coach, mentor, and sounding board for the product and design team to empower them to grow and reach new heights.

🚀 Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Leader with multiple product owners and designers reporting to you. Ideally in a SaaS business.
  • Demonstrable experience in being able to outline a long-term product strategy that supports business goals and the ability to inspire the organisation to achieve this vision together.
  • Technical and UX skills including methodologies, best practices, frameworks, and product life cycle management.
  • Experience managing several stakeholders simultaneously as well as demanding clients with diverse needs.
  • Proficiency with agile methodology and its frameworks and experience running them in a fast-moving startup.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills (ability to understand, influence, and motivate people).
  • A track record of success working effectively with Sales and Technology Development teams leading to product functionality enhancement.
  • Experience with managing both web and mobile products that are heavily reliant on data.
  • Experience in managing multiple complex products and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to demonstrate different approaches to problem-solving.
  • Proven experience in implementing standards and procedures across multiple teams.
