The RoleAs a Commercial Counsel, you’ll help manage Ro’s day-to-day commercial contract drafting, negotiation, and form maintenance. You will be a part of a fast-moving contracts team with responsibility for driving forward Ro’s engagements with service providers, partners, and future customers. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the business and work with leadership to understand our business priorities. You’ll use your insight into Ro’s contracting process to help us identify needed process improvements and create efficiency. You’re friendly, flexible, and eager to learn about all facets of Ro’s business, as well as organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the legal review process for a variety of contracts, including SaaS and other license agreements, master and professional services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, supply chain and shipping agreements, commercial leases, advertising and marketing contracts, consents and releases, and innovative deals with healthcare partners
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Ro to drive business growth while managing legal risk
  • Improve legal processes and forms including contract management and vendor onboarding
  • Assist with the completion of deal documents and diligence in connection with financings and M&A
  • Consult with and manage outside counsel as needed
  • Escalate risk decisions as appropriate for consideration by leadership

What You'll Bring:

  • You are an attorney with a JD, admission to a state bar, and a minimum of six years of relevant experience with at least three years of law firm or in-house experience in a contracts department
  • You have experience working in the healthcare, technology, or emerging growth spaces
  • You are comfortable handling tasks and answering questions that are unfamiliar to you
  • You are able to assess and balance both legal and business risks
  • You are a skillful drafter, issue-spotter, and problem-solver
  • You are a clear communicator
  • You are familiar with data privacy laws, including CCPA

The target base salary for this position ranges from $152,600 to $190,500, in addition to a competitive equity and benefits package (as applicable). When determining compensation, we analyze and carefully consider several factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. These considerations may cause your compensation to vary.
