The Role

Brex is hiring the central leader responsible for implementing cross-functional programs and integrations with the existing Brex program and processes. You will ensure that appropriate functional subject matter experts within Compliance, Legal, Data, Engineering, Product and other teams are integrated within the AML program appropriately. 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead all aspects of Brex’s AML Compliance program and report key operating metrics, SLAs, and key risk metrics to Management
  • Provide guidance to the business and other partners on compliance concerns, policy changes, emerging risks, and audits/examinations
  • Strengthen  policy framework to ensure AML/CTF requirements are considered
  • Design scalable solutions for the long-haul; evaluate and implement vendor management system(s) 
  • Oversee the execution of project management associated with the AML program
  • Lead the relationship and partnership with our business partners, providing guidance regarding the design of our operational processes, while leading implementation
  • Manage internal and external partners in relation to audits and examinations including regulators, and ensure findings are remediated appropriately
  • Ensure all reporting obligations are identified and completed in a timely manner
  • Promote compliance and ensure adequate action plans are completed on any compliance improvements, to align with FFIEC guidelines and Bank Secrecy Act regulations, where appropriate 
  • Liaise with the U.S. authorities on all regulator BSA/AML compliance matters
  • Update Management about BSA/AML matters and trends; where there are significant AML risks, raise to the Compliance Committee for a decision
  • Lead and evaluate the AML Compliance team's performance and compliance with BSA/AML laws and regulations 

What We Value

  • 10+ years of experience in financial compliance and regulations, including building and leading dynamic teams
  • CAMS certification required
  • Knowledge of risk management within the Financial Services industry
  • Experience implementing AML regulatory and policy requirements
  • Experience working hands-on with cross-functional teams, such as: Legal, Engineering, Product Management, Data, andperations in building compliance processes and systems
  • Be comfortable independently managing demanding, cross-functional projects
  • Experience managing internal and external exams, including building and maintaining relationships with U.S. state and federal regulators
