The People Operations team at Coursera is responsible for building systems, processes and networks that enable the company to onboard, support, develop, grow and retain our amazing talent. Currently, we are tackling projects aimed at helping Coursera to continue to scale as a top global company of high-performance teams. We evangelize fulfilling our company’s mission to transform lives through learning.
You will find yourself in the epicenter of systems and processes in all things People, Talent, Workplace Services and Organizational Development. You’ll converge on multiple cross functional business intersections to enhance fluidity and maintain a People Systems infrastructure that allows employees and managers to efficiently execute on employment decisions whilst feeling connected and properly informed. You’ll make the day to day transactions seamless and automated so People can focus more on high impact activity. People Systems is both an art and a science. You will have the ability to be innovative and stretch the boundaries of people systems design to operationalize the acquisition, retention and optimization of Coursera’s #1 asset, its people.

Responsibilities:
- Oversees and maintains optimal function of Coursera People Systems, which may include deployment, customization, development, and progressive maintenance to applications, systems, and modules
- Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to People System users. Administers security permissions and personalization requirements
- Collaborates with People leadership and broader stakeholders to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions
- Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports
- Compiles and/or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for relevant stakeholders
- Takes on special People Operations projects and tasks as needed by the team and the broader business
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years in a HR generalist capacity, ideally in a technology company with progressive responsibilities in HRIS and like systems
- 4+ years experience working with HR information systems
- Experience and proficiency with standard business intelligence tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Googlesheets)
- Demonstrated history with Workday HCM
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong ability and deep understanding of HR functions and how they’re woven into HR systems
- Deeply analytical and can translate ambiguous problems into structured questions and hypotheses
